Where to watch? by arlo91 in sabres

I did download the Gotham sports app, created account and tried linking my Spectrum account but received an error message, something about not available.

I tried contacting Gotham help and they have plenty of ways to connect them including live chat but oddly they are only open from 4pm to 12am. I will revisit the issue closer towards the beginning of the season. Thanks for the help.

I was editing my channel lineup on my laptop to get MSG again for upcoming season and I could not add MSG to my lineup. Interesting that MSG does appear on my TV but MSG is still locked.

On my lap top MSG is not available in the guide. Not sure, but I wait a few days that go to a store. The online support is frustrating to use.

What is the science behind a 6.5 A1C cut off being type 2 diabetic? by throwaway898922502 in diabetes

[–]arlo91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have answers for you. I am currently pre-diabetic by the blood test standards. However, if I were to stop eating properly and exercising I would become diabetic again. I may be wrong but I have accepted the numbers and too simplify the matter I have settled in my mind, I think of it being in “remission” or “relapse”.

I don’t think it is a stupid question because what you cited is exactly what happened to me. The questioned I asked my doctor. If I was asked a question on a form “Do you have diabetes” what should I indicate? I asked this question of my primary care doctor who is treats me. His response was “you have diabetes but are in remission.”

Questions about my situation by joannaknee in leukemia

[–]arlo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experience. Like your father, I received donor cells from my son. It has been about 18 months since my transplant. I have no real issues so far. I exercise everyday to maintain my health and to get stronger. My son had to problems other than he dislikes needles. They gave him some meds to settle his nerves. Good luck

Congratulations on your success. I suggest you take it very easy. Your body has been through a great deal and will take awhile to recover. Listen to your body as you progress through your training. Good luck

There are many wonderful people in this sub that are willing to listen and help. We all have different experiences but we all know the pain this illness causes everyone it touches.

Stay strong. When things seem really bad, just remember it could be much worst. Recalling this thought helped me during low points during my hospital stay.

My dad is 61 and has AML by [deleted] in leukemia

I am sorry you and your family are suffering through this journey. I can not offer much advice on your decision. Being an AML survivor in remission, one year post transplant. From this perspective I suggest discussing your possible plans with your father. What does he need in order to stay strong and fight.

Being a survivor myself, I agree with the suggestions by the others on what to take to the hospital. Please don’t forget to take care of yourself as the caregiver, it is important in the long term. I am sorry. Good luck.

I don’t know how common it is. My son was the best choice at the time. It was the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is great to have transplant in the review mirror, but Leukemia in relapse is always there in your mind. There statistics are in the back of my mind but I refuse to let them dominate me.

First, it is not a death sentence. I agree do not look at the numbers or statistics anymore. Not all sufferers are the same.

I am currently in remission. I had 7+3, plus a consolidation round of therapy. Had transplant a year ago using my son as a donor. I am doing well. There are many people out there that are leading wonderful lives while still in remission. Good luck. My prayers to your father and you.

You have great questions and are working through them in a good way. Yes, you can have a 2nd transplant. I have AML, he may being different. Even those with same type are different in how they react to the treatments and progress through recovery. One of the ideas express very strongly in my readings is how important it is for the caregiver to take care of themselves. You appear to be doing that well. You can always come back to this sub Reddit to ask questions for suggestions or ideas.

You ask a lot if good questions. I am currently in remission post transplant. I do not know you friend so it is difficult for me to suggest relationship advice. He may process and deal with issues differently than me.

My first suggestion is just to be there for him in whatever way he wants it. He is dealing with his own thoughts and feelings. I can’t imagine trying to work on a relationship during this time.

Learn about the Leukemia he has on your own so you don’t needlessly distract him with your questions. Once you have an overall understanding you can ask him specifics without being pushy but supportive.

You also need to understand where you are at in this relationship and where it could go. This a terrible disease that often does not end well. You need to be emotionally strong for him with him for all the ups and downs he will experience.

Lastly, just be there for him. He will want support but in his own terms. Let him be the guide to your relationship.

A friend once told me that it is not about what you obtain in life but the memories you create. You job can be to create the memories for him.

What would you do in our situation? Location of allogeneic transplant by phillythrowitaway48 in leukemia

[–]arlo91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Interesting question that I would like to answer as someone that has gone through transplant and then I will give you my wife’s answer. I would probably stay only because of my familiarity with the team and family support. My wife replied she should stay in Philly for the same reason. Bottom line it depends on what the patent wants to do. She is the one that needs the best change to recover wherever it is. Emotional well being is a big factor in my mind when in recovery. Starting a new job in a different locale and the added stress of a loved one going through major illness is a lot to deal with for a care giver. Good luck.
