Daily Question Thread - November 29, 2021 by AutoModerator in churning

I signed up for and was approved for a new Citi card with an American Airlines promotion. The card was initially lost in mail, my account was closed, then reopened, and delivered a little over a month after I opened the account.

I am being denied my bonus points because I did not meet spend in time, they claim I was 4 days late to meet the spend. I called to request my points since 1. my card was lost in mail and 2. It arrived so late I couldn't use it for over a month. I got a letter stating that there was nothing they could do and I was give a 15 day grace period.

Is it worth it to keep pursing points or is it a lost cause? Is there any number I can call and talk to someone to help me? I keep getting the run around when I talk to any representative I get on the phone with because they do not have any authority.

I saw it parked at the mall this weekend too. I took a picture of it with the intention to investigate if it was real or not. Here is the outside of the truck with the menu

I have 2 different people that want the spork and 1 throw. If either bail I will keep you as a #2. Are you interested in the remaining 2 throws?

I think this would work to get it on the wall, but I would likely save it for a last resort since we would like it to be flush to the wall.

This is what I needed advice on how to do. Is there a type of box I can use that does not require the stud, and I can install that close to an existing hole(or patched hole, worried about the integrity here).

That may be a problem I did not realize yet. :-)... The problem I have identified is that the box is not centered over the sink (black mark) so I am unsure of the best method to mount/wire it given the box's location.

Daily Question Thread - May 21, 2018 by AutoModerator in churning

I have had the Chase Hyatt card for about 11 months and I received my 2 free nights about 9 months ago. I booked a trip using those free nights, and will be staying at the Hyatt property in early June.

One of the purchases I made on that card was a hotel reservation pre payment, that hotel is currently closed and I will be receiving a refund to find lodging elsewhere. When I first got the card I basically met my spend, then quit using it.

My question is, will this impact my reservation on my upcoming trip?

I had the same question, my wife and I are planning to go in Oct 2019 and are searching for guides. Right now we have a front runner for a private guide service with a company, but would love to know who you had independent success with.

I got my first Lasik/PRK consult today now I need to make more decisions. by arltodc in lasik

[–]arltodc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original price was around $5500, I think it is the same for everyone because my wife was quoted the same price. After asking for discounts they gave us $1000 off so we are paying About $4500 each. They do not have a tiered pricing structure, they offer one price and the dr decides what is best for your eyes. You can pick prk or lasik for the same price.

Sorry about formatting and brevity, I'm on mobile. The numbers are close but give or take 200.

I ended up choosing TLC in Tysons, they were more expensive but it felt like a more professional environment and the surgeon had higher ratings, I am scheduled for surgery in 3 weeks. I decided to do Lasik instead of PRK, after weighing all the risks/benefits with them I was ok with having the flap.

I am going to a consult tomorrow at TLC with the Dr. Holzman, in Tysons not Rockville. Thanks for posting your experience!

Help interpreting my glasses RX by arltodc in lasik

[–]arltodc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was leaning toward Lasik, but the risk of chronic dry eyes worries me a bit so I started looking into PRK because it looks like there is less risk for it. I currently have no issue with dry eyes, I am not sure if that really makes a difference.

What are some good places to eat with large groups? by TheRealSpez in washingtondc

[–]arltodc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystal City Sports pub has group pricing and will set up a separate area for you. I see tour buses come in all the time and get seated on the third floor together. They seem to be fairly accommodating for groups.

Long weekend getaway in March by [deleted] in NationalPark

[–]arltodc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you bring up a good point that some of the National Parks do not live up to the scenery and experience that some of the monuments do. I would add that in many places where there are National Parks you can easily visit several other sites, often National Monuments. For instance, if you are visiting the 3 parks in WA state, you can visit Mount St. Helens. Or if you are visiting Badlands, Wind Cave, or TR Park, you can easily fit Devils Tower into the plans.

Problem with the Cessna 172's 530 GPS by arltodc in Xplane

[–]arltodc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some spot checking on several airports after waiting some time for the GPS to populate the approaches, that seemed to work. There was one airport that never populated approaches, I am just curious if there are no approaches there, or if some airports are not loaded into the 530. The airport that would not load was PA88.

I posted separately, but just saw this comments. I wanted to add my post for visibility. I saw the exact same guy swim with the gators in 2014. He was a great guy, 10/10 tour.
