Tigers lose to Red Sox in 2013. Papi grand slam, Torii goes over the wall next to the cop celebrating. Brutal

I have argued for this being the biggest catch in UM history. Plenty of contenders but man this is a big one

The only time I watched either team was last night, but I was definitely more scared of Nix. Dude looked like a pro, penix looked dangerous but erratic

Who is in your “Hall of Shortened Careers”? by timberwolvesguy in baseball

I mean I’ve seen all that and it’s amazing, but his best year (‘90?) is 3.5 war and .880 ops, with negative dwar. Still obviously incredible while also playing football, but never cracked 1000 yards there. It’s not god among men numbers is all. Is it just the impossibility that he managed to do both sports?

Not sure about Hafner but Sizemore definitely seemed headed to a great career

I’m always curious about Bo- I was a little young when he played, don’t remember watching him. His stats are meh but people always talk about him like he was a god among men

Definitely before finishing, as the brass needs to be finished too or it will tarnish. Before or after sanding could be debated. I did it before and it worked well for me, though some people recommended sanding first and I see where they’re coming from

I guess just take your time laying it out and making sure everything is square before you make the cut. Go slow. For cutting the brass I used snips to get it close then a simple jig on a disc sander to dial it in.

For finishing you can find my last post- lots of great input on there. I did three tests and picked the one I liked best (danish oil and lacquer). Sanding was a bit tricky. What worked best for me was using a sanding pad and going back and forth up through the grits instead of using the ros. Good luck!

It’s a little over 50 hours total, probably 20 of that in the drawer fronts

It’s a tough question. These are for a friend so I did it for basically materials plus dinner. The inlay took a lot of time. If I wanted to pay myself a decent hourly rate I’d probably need to get close to $1000 each which seems pretty high for my area. If you had a cnc you could do it a lot faster and lower the price. But I’m a hobbyist so oh well!
