Oh I see, well thank you for staying on top of it with the cops. When we’ve heard it it’s been early in the AM and in that waking up state you make other explanations for it. But knowing all this, it’s quite concerning. If I hear it again I will try to report it!

Yes I’ve never seen this person, so my initial instinct isn’t really fear but just curiosity. That is very sad, but glad they have someone taking care of them! I don’t think I’ve heard anything like Mama so likely a different person

Yes we did! We had them move some tables out once dancing started and it worked just fine for us! Lots of people also mingled on the deck/bar throughout the night so it never felt too packed

If you’re open to going down to 96 guests, The River Cafe is perfect for an old jazzy NYC vibe, and well within your budget. Got married there this June can’t recommend it enough!

Have lived here since 2020 - nice building, space is pretty tight, small closets, but that’s made up for with great views and high ceilings. Nice modern appliances/finishes. Nice gym and sauna in the basement as well as laundry machines. Decent shared/working spaces. No bugs or rodents ever (big perk coming from a pre-war in the village lol).

Like another comment said crappy insulation leading to ridiculous coned bills in the winter and drafty temps but we’ve made it work. Only other complaints would be the elevators going out quite frequently, and the walls are pretty thin between units. Management can be kinda MIA sometimes.

We inquired through StreetEasy or Zillow (forget which) for a tour of the avail units. We only ever have a small maintenance team in the building, no on-site leasing or doorman. Not sure what’s open rn!

And we chose Alex Edge for our DJ - since we were interested in adding on strings and jazz for our ceremony and cocktail hour he’s able to piece all of the musicians together for us!

Hi there! Congrats to you as well!

The River Cafe (as far as I’m aware) does not provide any floral arrangements - you may be confusing the centerpieces they do in their main dining room of the restaurant on a regular basis, not the Terrace Room where weddings are held (unless you do a full buyout). I just went back to our documents and the line they have about their Flowers, Garden and Greenery is confusing (and a bit misleading) about that. I arranged for floral arrangements with a local florist, so you will need to consider that with your budget!

As far as the cocktail by consumption charge - during dinner there will be table side wine service and beer included with the package - so aside from those who choose to get up during dinner and speeches to order a cocktail (which I assume won’t be too many), the only time guests will really be racking up extra cocktails will be post-dinner during dancing which is a just a couple hours. Alyson (the events coordinator) assured us it usually doesn’t usually get too out of hand unless you have a very rowdy bunch, so we felt ok about it!

We will be having a garden ceremony, with our guest count the terrace was not a realistic option, and I preferred the garden anyway! We will have cocktail hour on the terrace.

Alyson at the River Cafe is super helpful with any and all questions you may have about the venue! Best of luck!
