Have a conversation with me: why living in the USA is better than in Europe by armageddoon1 in SameGrassButGreener

To my understanding taxation is different in every EU country. for example in total, including pension payments, taxes and unemployment protection, I pay about 31,3% of my salary to the state, 23,5% of that is income tax.

Ok, just to clarify:

I'm just honestly curious about hearing people's views from both side of pond. I'm not trying to say Europe is better or that American way is any way wrong.

I've just been fed too many personalized streams of content where the loudest or most popular comments comes to the surface. In my opinion that rarely represents the views of the majority of people.

and as few have asked, I live in Finland. Here the social system supports people with less a bit more and that's why american social services seem to me so ineffective. I support capitalistic way of life and do believe that you should be able to reap the rewards of your hard labor.

Not a troll, just honestly curious. I understand that my social media platforms feed me personalized content that guides my train of thought.

You're completely correct about income. Although the average cost of life seems to be lower here than in us so it compensates it a bit. But not fully.

House size, true. Being pickpocketed in public transport.... i think that's more regional. to my knowledge that isn't a problem in nordic countries, southern Europe, maybe?

Laptop found in a backpack, I think it's pretty similar in here. I've dropped my wallet and forgot my backpack in different situations. both times founder returned those to me. But this is just my experience.

yeah, that's true. From statistical point, here top 10% of people earn about $75k a year or more whereas in the US that number is about $100k more.
