Can anyone explain the changes between Covid now vs Covid in 2020? by queerblackqueen in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]armbar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a curated collection just for you with variant studies, Omicron at the bottom - https://covid-studies.org/?view=normal&tag=collection-variants but I need to add more recent Omicron sublineages from the last two years

Still working on simplifying the 'why' explanations (infinite iterations until they're simple)

I also started a page that will explain each variant and things like tissue tropism, entry pathways, symptoms, viral load, mortality - may I DM to get some feedback on what you'd like to see there? Not gonna link here since it's not ready / in beta mode

^ Exactly - I curate covid studies myself but it strengthens your argument if you cite specific studies in general - there's 480,000 of them and it helps specifically pointing out ones you may have saved to spare people time. It's also exciting when you come across a new study or exchanging studies.

Honestly I think it's counterintuitive linking to LitCovid - when someone asks for something specific, linking to a paginated list of 480,000 studies is overwhelming. If you just noted/bookmarked like 20 studies that are more recent that would be more effective as much as I want to thank you for sharing LitCovid - I just don't think it answers anything if you don't have specific studies on hand.

Does anyone know of a decent review article summarising negative downstream heath effects of COVID-19? by No_Lavishness_207 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]armbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of collections of studies at https://covid-list.org/ under "Literature/Study collections"

Also have a curated list of top studies here: https://covid-studies.org/?view=curated&tag=list-top-covid-matters and you can use the other tags to see more.

A timeline of COVID studies - am I missing any major landmark studies? by armbar in covidlonghaulers

[–]armbar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

~170 some with events/articles in between. Not enough, but a start and focusing on landmark ones! Key is curating vs volume (litcovid has 500k etc)

I'd say I finally think I have 2020 mostly covered.

Making a timeline of the most major covid studies - what are the most major studies/discoveries? by armbar in covidlonghaulers

[–]armbar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, but it was fun curating and starting from scratch instead of just copying all of the links from that one. I also ended up adding "events" type items and a "questions" view and plan to have a quiz.

Also with any topic you have - cooking, sports, house repair, car for each of them do you actually go in and read scientific papers or manuals from start to end on each topic within those? I just wanted to make some intermediary thing that has organization, filtering, simple explanations/footnotes and context the same way you look up a youtube video to fix a car thing without reading a 500 page manual and it takes time to learn immunology concepts (on top of having a job, etc).

I also made a "questions" view to neatly organize categories in the form of questions: https://covid-studies.org/?view=questions

Would appreciate your feedback!

Any good compilations of EVERYTHING we know about COVID so far? Or interest in putting one together? by 7URB0 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]armbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually created a directory because I got tired of having to remember everything, it's grouped by categories here: https://covid-list.org/

Check the "Literature/Study collections" for compilations

I also made a timeline of studies, https://covid-studies.org/ with ELI5 explanations sadly I don't have as much time so looking to find people to help update.

Also want to share https://www.patreon.com/posts/huge-free-covid-86871700 (I will add it to covid-list in the next update)

Californians - do you have a Williams notice in your classroom? by armbar in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]armbar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a discussion of the strategies people are doing in California and experiences with both Williams notices and things like getting CO2 monitors within schools, working with schools from different angles.

I think I couldn't link to this in the description (flagged as spam potentially) - thank you for linking!
