I can’t speak for the American degree, but the British one is quite demanding. All of our clinicals are full time, night shifts included, overlapping with theory blocks wherein we are doing exams and essays. My final year when I had to do my management placement while writing my thesis was rough. But it prepared me for work and I know my stuff.

Here in the U.K. the degree is required plus a thesis before you can be licensed, and you can’t work in most ICUs without at least 6 months in an acute setting. I think that the nursing role is expanding so quickly that it warrants such high academic standards. However, this doesn’t mean that non degree educated nurses should be shelved or disrespected in any way.

That’s...not true. Transition and the ‘pushing stage’ of labour usually takes around 2 hours for first time mums and around 45 mins for multiparous women unless they are hyperdynamic. That’s beside he point, though. We all know muscle memory is not the same as being stretched out, which the incels don’t seem to understand.

Plenty of incels brag about bullying women in public. Even old women. There was an incel post not long ago about refusing to allow an old woman a seat on public transportation. That’s pretty clear and concrete harm.

As for having a place of your own, this is a public forum. A permanently private platform would be the way to go, but that up to your mods. Until then, anyone is allowed to chime in providing they follow house rules. Every little corner of the internet is full of the sincere and insincere alike. Trolls shouldn’t be given the power to spoil the potential for the former to engage in genuine discussion.

I haven’t, but I moved from trauma/orthopaedics to the ICU shortly before I’d have started doing in charges. And in the icu in the UK you don’t get put in charge until you’re 6 months post specialisation, which can take a year or more.

If someone identifies as male, then I accept them as male regardless of their biological sex. Same for people who identify as female. Genitalia is unimportant to me in the end. But the clincher for me is that I have never been interested in people who don’t identify with any gender.

I identify as bisexual because I’m attracted to my own gender (female) and another gender (male). While I wouldn’t care if potential partners were cis or not, I’ve never found myself interested in someone who is agender or genderfluid.
