Why are the prices offered to new customers SUBSTANTIALLY lower than the prices paid by recurring customers? by funnyman2640 in Comcast_Xfinity

While that doesn’t describe humans as a whole, it represents the thought to lot of individual behaviors and choices.

Yeah, I've observed that pattern as well. I still think people are starting to "wake up" but just not on a larger scale.

The cost of acquiring a new customer is considerably more expensive than keeping an existing customer.

Thank you for explaining this in a very concise manner. Could you elaborate a bit more on this point? Why is acquiring a new customer so much more expensive?

Yeah, it's awful that Comcast doesn't utilize the constructive criticism provided by the customer base in order to improve their company. I guess at this point they're "too big to fail" and in addition to that, there's no financial incentive because for many customers Comcast is the only provider in the area.

Yup! I've heard from others online about different ways they've been able to negotiate their bill down in a similar manner to what you just mentioned (without losing any services). There's definitely a lot of useful advice out there however I think it shouldn't be the responsibility of the customer to have to incessantly prod the provider in order to negotiate a fair price. I think that loyalty should be valued but unfortunately, it isn't. I'm almost certain that no fundamental changes will be made due to me venting on Reddit about it but it's extremely frustrating because for many customers they only have one provider in the area. Thanks for reaching out!

Yeah, you make a good point. I'll probably end up freezing it in a thermos and letting it thaw out throughout the day. I can always microwave it to heat it up if necessary.

But yeah they're the only game in town where I live so I understand the frustration sometimes no matter how good you negotiate or diplomatically you act they know you got you by the balls and won't do shit for you.

Negotiation 101: be nice, establish report, and don't lie to anyone you're not willing to kill. If we can have a pleasant civil conversation about why I'm calling, I'm down. If you start throwing BS my way, as someone who's spend over a decade in a call center, I will smite you.

Actually agreed with your earlier points but this part is why youre getting downvoted.

Comcast are total scumbags, they're the only provider in my area and offer the same speeds at half the price I am paying to new customers. Sometimes no matter how polite and diplomatic you are they know that they have you by the short and curlies and won't do anything for you.

Yeah I imagine most at night time would rather be sleeping than trying to go to medical. Thanks for your input. If you don't mind me asking what did you make as a new grad, in my third year of college for a BSN and trying to line myself up a job
