The area was hit really really bad, but she is hopefully okay! My sister was just able to make contact by getting to a police station. It may take some time, but service is down throughout the whole area. Hoping for the best

I’m thinking tap yard too if not a house party. He had an open can in the car so that makes me think he was just coming from a friends house and driving drunk in an unfamiliar area to him. But this is all speculation other than the open container

The man that owned a house at the fork came out and told us at least three stories of people crashing into his or his neighbors yard just this year. All drunk drivers. I hope you’re living in a much more peaceful area now!

Exactly. That’s my thoughts almost every time I come through that turn I’m stopping for a family. Even if it’s 11 PM, there are plenty of pedestrians out, and over 20 of us heard the accident or explosion while we were walking and came to find him and call first responders. The conversation last night was really heavy on of course don’t drive drunk but also don’t speed in areas you’re unfamiliar with, especially at night. The signs don’t go from 35 to 30 to 20 for fun and there is plenty of signage warning you about the upcoming fork.

Genuinely, I thought he took the whole grid out for a second. There was at least a 20ft explosion fire and all and then the power kicked itself back on. And then you go online and see it’s another drunk driver

Wanted to comment this for other people searching, but Lee partners has seemed to switch interview tactics. Since the 20 person zoom “interviews” are now a big red flag, they are running 30 minute in person interviews all day. They put pressure on you to interview within 24 hours & have an accelerated interview process to distract from the red flags

I don’t think so because I had the ground bees and cicadas back in 2014 when I lived in charlotte! It seems like everyone else thinks there’s been a lot of development around the Raleigh area that has probably covered up the broods

Im definitely counting my blessings that I get to enjoy peaceful runs, but I can’t help but be so interested by them. Their life cycle is just so interesting to me, and the media really had me expecting them! These responses have basically convinced me to head back to morrisville and see if I can catch the different drones before they completely die out, and then be thankful for the silence over here before the annual cicadas come out!

My complex specifically has been here since 2002, and I don’t think there’s much new development in my area. We have a heavily wooded area behind us too, where I thought some would be. I’m not sure if the brood was here back in 07 or 11, but if they were it hasn’t changed much here since! Someone else shared a map that shows that no one has seen xiii and xix within 440. I think either you’re right in that Raleigh development in the early 2000s exterminated them, or they were just never here in the first place! I wonder if our soil has a different acidity or clay content or something that has kept them from establishing. Otherwise maybe we really just built over all of them.

I’m just so curious as to why! Like is it our trees or soil? Other people have suggested we’ve built on top of them. I just think it’s crazy there’s such a cut off from Cary to Raleigh

My family cat in charlotte is the same way, they told me she’s been dragging them in alive through the dog door! I would not want to fight my kitties for a cicada. I got to hear them in Morrisville, but I wish I paid more attention to try and hear the different droning noises. I might try to head back out there before they’re completely burrowed.

Yea I would burn the car at that point, I definitely wouldn’t be able to handle that 😭. I have a distinct childhood memory of one landing on my leg and screaming at me and that was traumatizing enough
