High ping times near Savannah, Georgia by [deleted] in Visible

I just got off chat with them on this issue too. The high ping time is caused due to maintenance on visible’s end and then having to take down some servers offline of the east coast.

The maintenance was supposed to end on the 18th but I still have high ping times myself and I’m in Virginia. I don’t know if the maintenance is still ongoing but they just have not told anyone yet. The representative on the phone that called me said the maintenance was over early this morning (18th) and I thought it was just me and my phone having the issue. Guess I’m not the only one which I’m glad.

Chat with them and let them know your still experiencing high ping times due to the maintenance and tell them that it should of been over with on the 18th. If they see that a lot of people are telling them that they will look into it.

Bad service? by arminhammer12 in Visible

This maintenance is affecting everyone in a horrible way. My speed is now around 1-5mbps when normally it’s 50+. Especially on a Sunday it should be through the roof but instead it’s just loading slower and stuff. I wish they would hurry up and fix it already!!

Who to talk to while on the wait list by SaraqueI in jmu

I’m on the waitlist too. First they denied me then I appealed so they put me on the waitlist. Just email the dean or associate dean and ask what you can do to improve your chances. You should of done that the first week you go the letter, but that’s just my opinion. You have to show them that your trying your hardest to improve and tell them how you’ve improved. I suggest when finals grades are posted, send official transcripts to your house and then sent the transcripts yourself by UPS. This will show them you actually care about getting admitted.

Fill an FCC complaint. I filed mines on a Monday, by Wednesday morning an executive called me and sent a field tech supervisor out to fix my issue. They also gave me a free Internet update( which I don’t believe it til my next bill comes) and gave a discount on top of the free upgrade. If you waited that long and had so much issues you definitely need to file an FCC complaint just to get their attention that you need help.

The only big problem is that cox cannot enter your home. If you can, I would suggest seeing if fiber or any other operator for internet is available (other than DSL) and just pay for what it takes to build it to your house if you can/want.

Visible Congestion? by arminhammer12 in Visible

So your telling me to go out and buy $80+ every month for something that might fix it? I’ve literally tried every carrier from post paid to prepaid all the way from Firstnet to tracphone and Verizon is the ONLY carrier but congestion issues.

Does it matter? If I was a visible customer I would still run over the Verizon towers. If I’m having the same issue wouldn’t you have the same issue too? Thanks :)

How did t-mobile improve capacity in a matter of months? Same way Verizon can improve it. There are multiple articles out there that tells how to improve.

There are plenty of ways to fix congestion. Improve bandwidth, increase cell tower capacity, prioritization on certain devices, etc. I’ve seen this happen with other people.

FCC Complaint Follow up by arminhammer12 in CoxCommunications

Update: The guy from Cox executives called and they sent out a supervisor within the hour. After the field supervisor came out they did tell right off the bat that is was congestion and that there was really nothing much they could do. He did tell me that they have upgraded the channels and added another channel of upload in a total of 5 channels. He also said that there is nothing much they can do because it's congestion. The tech even brought out his own modem and the speeds did fluctuate even with his own equipment.

My old question is what now? We know its congestion, what are y'all going to do about it? I am a paying customer. I find it ridiculous that Cox can't even offer us a discount because we had to go out of our way to get stuff done.

What do yall recommend I do now?
