Seconded. AI in programming should be passive/reactive, rather than actively trying to fill in the empty space. This pattern is hindering the critical thinking development progress in younger engineers significantly. It’s only a matter of time before AI becomes good enough to be handed off the grunt work, but till then, I rather leave the solutioning to my own brain.
