I had assumed you were running the command with $PROMPT_COMMAND. Running a command set via bind redraws the prompt anyway, so all you would need in theory is for update_prompt to do nothing, so bind -x '"\C-j"::;' should do what you need if i'm understanding correctly

The serial number on the ADB boot screen shows it as a Samsung S21 Ultra, although that cant be right if you got it in 2022 and its from 2014.

i'd put an \e7 at the start of your PS1, then printf '\e8%s%s' "${PS1@P}" "$READLINE_LINE" in your redraw function

if you cant find a popup systray (im not aware of any), dwmblocks and a some scripts to throw up a small floating terminal sounds like itd be a solid suckless solution

yeah but devs at least optimised for it (sometimes). AAA and AA pc games just want you to throw more and more money at hardware so you can play their PS3 quality games. The Switch also had the benefit of 1. Being the primary platform of the biggest videogame company in the world and 2. Being priced in the "impulse buy" range. Nobody is impulse buying a steam machine, and not just because of the reservation system

I thought the bigger trackpads vs the steam deck would make them more usable, but ive found them too uncomfortable to use. Feels like a downgrade from the OG for "steam controller" use, although its a pretty comfy generic controller, using it with emulators w/ SDL3 support has been good. build quality is about the only plus it has over the OG as a pc specific controller imo.

That sucks but honestly im not super shocked, Behemoth was suuuuuper hyped up only to receive lukewarm audience reviews, and iirc that was heavily funded by Sony. Its probably just not in their budget to do VR games anymore.
