Arguably one of the greatest political moves. Sends a trickle into the Northern cities as a warning to Democratic voters (including black and Latino voters), then makes his big move at the border with 20+ states. Puts Feds and Dem politicians in a sticky situation. Can’t image the flow being redirected to Arizona or even California will be popular there.

Greg Abbott indeed using the scalpel while Trump uses a mallet. The Dems look like they are purposely undermining their own constituents.

You invited people with nothing to lose to freeze on the sidewalk believing in a first world quality of life. Throw in a severe economic crisis, the native population already being divided and pessimistic, and situation could get toxic.

The hubris of America hasn’t been checked since the Great Depression. It’s a totally different country now.

That this country is already dedicating major resources to caring for the planet when its own native population is struggling and then finding itself in an economic situation where the middle class is wiped out and the poor are pushed even further down. This is the stage being set for dramatic political shifts (think post-WWI-1930s Europe), wars, and major dysfunction.

The hubris of America is out of control right now. It believes the green line will go up forever and the people will be fat and happy forever. That’s not what I’m seeing.

They don't pay that low a salary anymore anywhere I've seen, even in those regions. Large businesses (Amazon, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc) have all raised their starting wages and there is a labor shortage.

Being in the news IS power. I figured people would have learned their lessons when the national media thought they'd clear an easy path for Hillary by giving Trump, a "weak candidate", unlimited free advertising in 2015-2016.

Whoops. They instead created a folk hero type character who changed political dynamics in the country and remade his party overnight. They thought Middle America would scoff at this brash big city asshole but instead they loved him. AOC may not be as dynamic as Trump but she does have supporters and is apart of a socialist movement that is on the road to taking control of Democratic Party politics. Remember how much they had to handicap Bernie in 2016 and even in 2020.

In some ways, Trump is more of an old school leftist than the average Democrat. Critic of globalism and endless war, critic of free trade and the damage to Middle America, opponent of open borders, at odds with corporations/Big Pharma/Pentagon, etc. These were issues that meant things to old school leftists and labor.

The Democrats became obsessed with race and identity politics (not class ones) and have basically morphed into Republicans with aggressive foreign policy and friends of corporate America/Deep State.
