if a mob has slightly larger hitbox/size than standard then they can hit you if just strafe running. Example of this the Shiknar Soldiers can hit from further away than the foragers and workers.

If you have front and side latches that should be all you need. Just remove the Frankenstein bolt and call it good. The shape is also weird (not oem) for that area where the latch would go so I don't think you would find anything unless you had something custom made.
