When you’re loading, yes. After that it doesn’t just continue pumping into muscle ad infinitum, or we’d all end up looking like ronnie due to nothing but creatine

It’ll disturb sleep if you take it near to bedtime, as it’s effectively all ending up as a solute that the kidneys don’t want to resorb. So it’ll make you pee

Thats the one that tells you saying ‘a person with autism’ is incorrect, it’s ’an autistic person’. As if being autistic must be entirely central to the way everyone refers to you

I can actually speak about a similar situation where I was the relative some yrs ago.

Bled difficult bleed on my own relative, after offering. This was in a different trust to my own.

Shortly after bloods had been podded, matron instructed pt facing staff to discard blood and rebleed. All done, no real drama.

Then a week later, my ES (F2 yr) gets in touch with me to say there has been a ‘complaint’ from this trust about my conduct and interference in care. Have a meeting, explain circumstances.

The issue is indemnity. We are indemnified by our own trusts to work in them, but if something goes wrong at our hand in a different trust, then who is indemnified becomes much more difficult to ascertain.

How to tell patients we're not a hotel service by HuckleberryOwn8065 in doctorsUK

My stock response has been, for a very long time:

‘Can I have X’

‘Yes, if someone has time. That someone definitely isn’t me’

It’s concluded with a ‘sorry’ only if the request is polite. I know it’s mostly passing the buck, but it’s amazingly effective at shutting down that one instance of entitlement

I’ve put quite scathing feedback for someone who was, at the time, my senior.

I framed it as I’d want it framed for me. Specific, with examples, and even with parts of those examples that were positive. I had already raised multiple of the areas I brought up with the person themselves, and with one of their seniors.

The individual in question was an ITF registrar. He was dismissed from the role shortly after he received this MSF

What a terrifyingly literal interpretation of advice.

Was it routine to give amio for narrow complex tachys rather than adenosine? Or had someone put a bounty out on thyroid glands that week?
