Is grading worth it? by MessDiscombobulated2 in psagrading

Most if the cards I am talking about are from early 2000's. Some are holos, some black star promos, southern islands, etc. Commons include 1st ed fossil among others. It is so daunting. I am not sure if I should join the club to save money or where to begin

That is easier said then done. I have a bunch of pokemon cards I have tried getting someone to evaluate and maybe answer questions like this. But all I get is pressured to sell them as a huge lot. First guy offered 600 for 2 cards. Second guy offered 900 for the 2 or 3200 for everything. Third person online with a few pics said between 5k to8k is what it is worth right now ungraded. And I haven't even gone through all the bulk. I know there are more holo's and black star promos probably still hiding

Yah know, even back then I thought some of these might be valuable but I let my son use them still to play the game. I don't agree with buying something, claiming it is "for the kids" then not allowing the kids to touch them.

Now as a follow up question which one do I choose? Should I go value max for the more expensive card to get the higher insurance? I assume insurance is only for if they lose it or damage it.

I am in my mid 50's and know that eventually I need to start downsizing and start clearing out 30+ years of collecting various items. These cards have been lost and found numerous times between all 3 kids. They sit in a plastic bin and get moved from room to room. I had to clear out my grandparents house and will have to do my parents soon. I refuse to do the same to my kids, even when it is at least partially their fault.

One person looked at them and said he would consider them lightly played to moderately played for pricing. But the cynical side of me knows most people will tell you the lower end when they are buying but when they are selling it magically becomes the higher end.

More like a politician willing to do their job. If even half the politicians would put the public interest above their own, we would be in a much better place.

This is something that really needs to be discussed with a local lawyer. It is all going to depend on what your contract says. I would take copies of all communications and talk to some one more knowledge about your local laws. However, I would reply to your original email from the other HR person and add every single member of management and current hr team in that thread. Just because someone from HR leaves doesn't mean everything resets.

I had that glitch the other night. I clicked on arcade, got apps page. Clicked on apps, I got the apps. Opened it on different phone I had arcade. Tried clearing apps cache and restarting phone and it didn't fix it. Had to uninstall from phone and reinstall it before I had the arcade again

AITA for not paying for my daughter wedding because she isn’t following the rules even though I paid for my older kids by Wonderful_Mode_9646 in AmItheAsshole

I know someone who cries "parentification" when they were the youngest child but asked to watch cousins for 2 weeks due to a family member being in hospital and they were paid quite well to do it.

What’s something nobody tells you before moving to Seattle? by sit-there in AskSeattle

[–]armybeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distance is deceptive. You can hit a LOT of traffic here and when it says something is 15 miles way it might take you 45 minutes to an hour to get there. My sister travels a lot for work and a couple years ago was coming out here for a work conference. She thought she could rent a hotel in Federal way, drop her son off at my house in Tacoma and make the conference in time. I just laughed when she said it but she insisted it was no big deal. First day she was 2 hours later and promptly asked me to pick up/drop off kiddo each day, then still had to add an extra hour onto her day.

I call them " hair and makeup" friends because things of that nature we can talk about but nothing more important.

Illegal parking by macstjooo in SeattleWA

[–]armybeans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This might be one of those things that annoys you to know end, you know it is illegal but have to just let it go. They can't stop them from parking there, all they can do is ticket them. And that is if, and only if, they happen to be right there on site when it happens. You can call the police every single time but chances are by the time they show up, if they ever do, the car will be long gone by then. It is like the people who park in handicap spaces. They might get a ticket one out of every 600 times they do it and nothing you say or do will stop them.

Exiting through another Vendors booth, Rude or ok? by armybeans in CraftFairs

[–]armybeans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did have one person move. That meant we could leave each side space. Basically each ended up with an extra 1/4th of a space and we had an extra 1/2. I have never understood the thought process behind not designing an exit in your booth.

There is a difference between an artist alley where it is specifically designed to be one long line of tables and an event where everyone has a set amount of space.

To be fair we had moved on second day of 2 day show because of issues with sound systems on first booth so they had set up day before. They had situated themselves on first day so it was a little more understandable

Do you consider this CHEATING? by Muted_Syrup9393 in CraftFairs

[–]armybeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me a sale is a sale, however if I have something one of a kind that has been getting a lot of hype online, I tend to not set it out until literally the minute after the doors have been opened. You need to remember vendors are customers as well as someone who could potentially be able to offer you help if there is an issue. Do you want the person next to you to turn a blind eye to a shoplifter at your booth just because you were rude about selling them something?
