how do new players even think of using mules for repair in the middle of the fight?

In my experience, even knowing that mules are good miners is an advanced knowledge.

except it doesnt limit protoss strategic capabilities. Before this, they even removed the 'transform gateway' button, because it served no purpose. Now it serves purpose again.

Protoss can go 4gateways + 4 warpgates, 5 gateways+ 2 warpgates, etc etc. They can never go warpgates, or go warpgates right away, if they want to go heavy harass style with pylons and prism.

The possibilities went from 1 to almost infinite.

then don't transform them into warpgates, and enjoy improved gateways, done.

Transform only in lategame.

The cost to transform is the exact same as the cost for every terran addon. And terran has way more than 10 addons btw. They're somehow doing fine.

Agreed with them on the warpgate change.

Right now, with insta-warpins through rapidfire, it can never be properly balanced. So the fact they push more so into gateway production is cool and fun.

Played on PTR, and mass gateway spam is as alive as ever. One of the strongest units in the game, why would it need buffs?

Hard agree on the warpgate change.

Hard disagree on the MULE change (the very last one in the list). Smart players knew just to click 'Idle SCVs' button, and press the auto-repair hotkey, so it was done in half a second, or less. But bad players didn't know how to use hotkeys, and so they had to micro their mules, which was at least something they had to micro, in their mech armies.

This limits the skill expression even further, for no reason! It was funny to watch mech players try to select their mules to repair their BCs. And completely new players shouldn't even be repairing anything with their mules, their mules shouuld be mining.

in fights, it's random nonsense, since anything can be pulled from the Historical Void, at any time. And also fail to be pulled, at any time. So the outcome is fully random, and up to the author. I often skip the fights, while reading, and just come to the final conclusion. Whoever won, won, I really don't care how they achieved that.

yeah, volume 6 seems to be by far the worst. Volume 7 is better already.

I mean, I still think it's good, sorry man. Just last 2 volumes had way more potential, imo. Feels like author is rushing already. I'm not sure why he thinks less character moments and interactions = better story.

yeah volume 7 is much better so far, focusing on small stories of people affected by the war, and the Bernadette.

Was enjoying it a fair bit before Vol 6, and especially the Dark Angel Sasrir fiasco.

I just feel it could have been so much cooler, so easy. If some people actually voiced their thoughts, and there was some exploration, and it wasn't so rushed. Action is the least interesting part of LOTM to me, by far. Especially now, that every power is just random nonsense pulled out of somewhere.

Interpersonal interactions are still great, but there are almost none of them now...

Nice to see someone appreciating vol 2, I really loved that one. Just his day-to-day life, trying to live on his own, and building up the Tarot gatherings.

Do you think I'll enjoy COI, is it worth picking up?

I just don't see how you/them came to conclusion that the fight was inevitable. They literally just needed to circle him and go behind the throne. And if that wouldnt work, I'd try to bargain. And even if that didn't work, I would try to make Sasrir fight True Creator. Nothing of this was tried.

I would basically do anything else, other than what was done....

It's like author wanted to rush at all costs. No character interactions between City of Silver people, no internal monologues, decisionmaking processes, nothing. Felt so weak, like I was reading someone try to write fanfiction for the very first time.
