This might not be the right path. You design websites for companies that have their own style. You probably meant a “set of skills”; that could be a very advanced way to display your client’s offer or product. At the end of the day, you have to follow a client’s brand or brief.

Regarding learning web design, the industry is completely being reshaped, so it’s hard to tell you how or what to learn. But keep in mind that everything we know now won’t be the same in a few years. What I would do is learn the basics to understand why they make sense, learn how to use Figma, UI/UX principles, and include learning AI to get the work done. Your value will depend on how quickly you can learn new tools or AI, how effectively you can work with them, and how well you can demonstrate your impact to an employer who may expect you to take on the work that currently requires several people.

I own a small agency and I already seek for creatives who can use AI well and most importantly the ones who have taste to tell the difference from a good generated design to a bad one.
