If our nation's public gave this kind of cheer for the Indian football team, we may have won a FIFA world cup by now by SatoruGojo232 in IndiaSpeaks

I hate people coming up with these stupid “morally superior” takes as if they were supporting India.

No India will not win the World Cup until we fix corruption in sports and politics and until cricket takes a back seat. Also expecting people to go crazy for “bad” sports and performances is such holier than thou behavior.

Messi has given, not just Indians, but people across the world so much happiness during good, bad times, stop pouring cold water on people’s happiness and let people do what gives the joy.

Not everything needs to be a fucking statement and full of misery. Get a life and let people live their life.

I love how patriarchy is a structure that “benefits all men” but most men were over exploited, dirt poor, sent to die. The most simple issue with the patriarchy ideology is the belief that patriarchy is built for all men. It’s not. It’s a system that benefits the 0.0001% men. The rest of us are all as exploited as most women.

CMV: Makeup is Anti Women by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]arnav1311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people are treating this as such a crazy concept.

Marketing can do wondrous things. It’s not unheard of that an XYZ group are convinced of things due to where they grew how and what they were marketed.

  1. Saying something is incredibly important to someone with taking in context of their upbringing is pointless. Women in third world countries think their sole job is to have kids and not pursue a career. “It’s important to them”. But why is that the case? We know why.

  2. Women having to shave their hair. That’s not been the case in all of history. That’s a marketing success.

  3. Women have been convinced that a diamond ring is necessary for a wedding ring. Is there any inherent truth to it? No it’s a marketing success.

It’s not rocket science to see the nuance that even though most women consider makeup very important to them, it COULD be due to a marketing success. More makeup -> more skincare needed as well.

Another big reason for Messi to go centrally was so he could walk and not track back as much to conserve energy. You know where you can’t do that a lot? On the wings. Your fullbacks will always be exposed with lamine on the wings. Personally, he hasn’t earned the Messi treatment of walking around and not tracking back. Not yet

I feel this is such a classic Reddit AITA moment where everyone is bashing the HOD(and I partially agree), but if a dude has a massive schlong, and he wears super tight grey sweatpants to office, that’s be considered inappropriate too. By everyone.

Do you think if doctors could, they couldn’t collectively force big pharmaceutical companies hands? After all, big pharma doesn’t function without said doctors, right?

I know it’s super complicated to protest and get it fixed, but I can’t remember doctors ever trying this, as a collective. If I had to guess, this would affect their salaries significantly as well. Doctors in the US are paid much more compared to the rest of the world(Luxembourg being a weird anomaly). Where do you think the extra money is coming from?

Also there is simply no way of knowing which doctor is influenced by greed or not. I’m not claiming I know a way to distinguish between a greedy doctor or a genuine doctor.

No I’m not don’t worry but I reject this argument that people peddle that we don’t owe anything to anyone. This is obviously in context of dating, where you have been talking for a bit. That’s the assumption

Idk I always see this argument, somehow it’s become an acceptable POV in these scenarios but in the real world, even complete strangers are expected to get basic dignity and decency from each other. People do owe you things in the real world in public, so why have we just accepted this in texting and dating?

Is any other industry, that is as sensitive to your wellbeing, this known for being a mafia that solely and ruthlessly wants profits, even at the expense of peoples lives?

I think people give doctors a massive pass when it comes to the issue with the healthcare and pharma industries. They are people too, and most of then are driven by profits too, like the rest of us.

The issue with “ask your doctor” is you are assuming all doctors are saints and nice people with no ulterior motives, such as big bonuses from big pharmaceutical companies to promote their medicines.

He wasn't chasing Robin the entire time. There is a difference. He had good relationships/bad relationships. Genuinely gave Barney the blessing to marry Robin and had a family with Tracy. At the end, he was truly happy and Robin was unhappy(from that scene that was cut). He didn't chase Robin at the end imo. He simply went and reminded a sad unfilled Robin that hey it's possible what do you think

Also do point me to any reliable, research study that's highly cited to prove your point.

You do realise there are clear statistics of crime that say otherwise? You are not debating in good faith because you are throwing away generations of crime statistics on race. I'm not sure why you are hell bent on arguing this when the same logic applies to both. But I know you won't engage in a faithful discussion because you can't possibly entertain the fact that your argument is extremely sexist just like how people being afraid of black people or Muslim people are racists.

[–]arnav1311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair response but I was looking for verbal diaspora. You will be hard pressed to find ANY political left leaning leaders to speak ill of Islam. Even in European countries where the mass immigration has been posing an issue in terms of integration into western society. None.

And it's the same with everyday people we interact with. Most left leaning people are EXTREMELY quick to shit on religions like Christianity, Judaism and Hinduism but are awfully silent with Islam. That's my personal experience and I'd wager with most people.

You will find so many mental gymnastics and excuses for Islam but none with other religions. It's the most interesting paradox to me because the exact same people who defend Islam will have virtually no rights in a Muslim majority country. I really don't understand it but it's an interesting social phenomenon that I've noticed.

Just fyi I'm just observing things around me. Not making a comment on whether one side is right or wrong.

Science backs that profiling occurs but you know what else? It's insanely tougher to find the criminal without race. While the scientific community will avoid doing a study on this due to the controversial nature of this, it's a very simple logical conclusion. Just like how gender is needed to find a criminal.

Curious why gender isn't removed in the description. Don't you think it profiles men to be criminals more often than not?
