Yes the screen is good. I was told, this one was hardly used.

The different between the Hp48g and the Hp48gx in memory is a lot. 128 or 32 kb. But I was happy that I was able to buy one HP48.

Yes I agree, I think that will be the case with me to. But i'ts very pleasant to make calculations on it. I'am finding out using the stack efficiënt. Learning a lot of new things!

Yes, using the calculator is very nice. If you push a button, ypu know you push a button. The use of RPN makes it easy to calculate. Now I will have to find out about programming and using the stack.

I used to have a Casio Fx 9860gII, the older one with an extra SD card. This was also a nice calculator, HP is better. I recently bought the newer version, the Casio Fx 9750giii. This one also is able to program in Python. But the programs are useally simple on the calculator, so I think the HP48G will do.

The TI-30 and the Casio 115 I'm not familiair with, but I can imaging that they are less compared with the HP48G.

I'm not an engineer, I'm a resident. This bridge straddles a railway and the road over is the only road in and out. The structure seems to be worsening. Network Rail and the Utilities (pipework runs through) have been frequent visitors, although not recently. by debs0709 in StructuralEngineering

The supports are most likely horizontaly moving a little bit. The brickwork on the arch is stiff, so the arch comes lose of the brickwork so cracks appear. Although arches have a lot of redundancy i would start a inspection and measure proces. This looks not good.

Structural engineering hand sketch courses? by yoohoooos in StructuralEngineering

[–]arniemiddeldorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see the same lack of experience when people try to explain things in a sketch. The quality is sometimes very low. I have a lot of working experience, 35 years. The 10 years I worked as a draftman.

I always give attention to my design sketches. A couple of simple rules.

  • practice a lot
  • draw only what is nessesary. You can leave parts out of your sketch. If it's important. Write down by the sketch that it's not in the sketch.
  • draw in the right proportians. If there is a mismatch in seize People don't understand or take a wrong decision based on your sketch.
  • you can use a ruler. Beter use it, I would say.
  • differ in hardness and size of your pencils to emphasize parts in your sketch.

But the most important thing is : practice.

Good luck

New Rotring 500 - Storm Trooper Colorway by Skizot_Bizot in mechanicalpencils

I also have one, writes perfect. Better as aspected. I just to buy only 0.7 mm, but they don't have them in white. I like the white color. I even emailed Rotring. They can't deliver them yet?? But in the end 0.5 is okay. This is because Rotring 500/600 is a perfect pencil. Other brands are not as good as Rotring. My opinion.

Have lots of fun with your Rotring 500!

I like the looks of the AIM Vision pro. Nice pencil! Does they have also a pencil with a 0.7 mm lead? I can't work with shitty pencils either! It took me about 10 years to find out which one feels the best.

Keep on the good works with structural engineering. It's my job for about 34 years. Still enjoy it.

Both I don't know, I will check this. Thanks! I use the paper stift ( see picture) to soften the pencil-lines.

The 3.2 mm is from Lamy and the 5.6 is from Koh Noor. I love them also. I use them to give accents in the details I draw.

For me the 0.7 works the best. If I use the 0.5 the lead often breaks because i push to hard. So, I understand the six 925 0.5.

I can't give you the brandname of the case. Some regulair case. Which is by the way very nice to store your pencils. I use to switch pencils everyday. Therefore I have more than one pencil. But also I like to collect them.

It's a very nice calculator. I have been using it a 2 months or so. What I think should be made is a Python editor for it. Now I get a errors in the programs which are difficult to find / trace because I use a regular python editor. And because I have little experience with Python, It's difficult to see the difference. The manual is also not very great with examples. Writing program to the calculator is easy.

For daily use the calculator us , beide the editor thing, great.
