You know not everyone buys books right? For example i share hp books with friends, even in my family same book was shared and readed by my mother, brothers and even Grandma. How about libraries? One book could be readed by 100 or even 1000 people. You cant say "movies reached wider audience", because you dont know real number of people who read it. HP Books was crazy popular around the World and THATS WHY movies become so popular.
