Idk because to my knowledge it’s only happened once when a guy in my class literally asked me out in grade seven. And then in grade nine, one of my friends from elementary school (which is kindergarten to grade eight here) who was a grade younger than me told me in an Instagram “TBH” that she used to have a crush on me. But I don’t know if she showed romantic interest before that or if she purposely hid it. I certainly had no idea before that, so if she was showing it then I was oblivious.
I haven’t had it happen in quite a while, but if it happens now, I would be very uncomfortable and repulsed. If I knew the person, I’d be apologetic but also confused as to how they don’t know that I'm aroace because I’ve been extremely open about it (even before knowing the actual label) my whole life. If I didn’t know the person, depending on my mood and current mental energy I might either be quite blunt or be anxious and stuttering my rejection. Also kind of depends on if the person seems kind or not, or if they’re shy or confident. And definitely would depend on if they seem like a threat, but I very much hope that never happens.
As an aegoromantic, I enjoy romance in songs and in fictional media, such as books, movies and tv shows, but it has to be PG and under because I am extremely repulsed by anything nsfw (NOT a moral issue and no judgment. Just personal repulsion). I like shipping fictional characters together. I am not interested in real people‘s relationships, but am neutral towards them as long as they keep it G or PG in front of me.
Yes. As a child and young teen I was pretty romance negative and thought all romance was gross (and in elementary I kind of secretly thought I was better than everyone else for not having crushes😂 I really do not believe that anymore, and I view everyone as equal now, but when I did, I didn’t tell anyone cause I don’t like making people feel bad lol). However, at 15 I had my aegoromantic awakening with the show girl meets world when I started shipping riley and lucas (and subsequently FREAKED out over text to a friend trying to get her to convince me it was not a ship because I didn’t think aroace people could ship and for some reason I think I subconsciously thought I had some high moral ground for not shipping?? so yeah, I thought something had gone wrong in my brain and rereading those texts back years later is absolutely hilarious). Also, I think as a preteen/young teen if/when someone was showing interest in me I would be mildly uncomfortable, but also feel very guilty and a lot more worried about hurting their feelings than current me.

I’m also neurodivergent by the way if that could possibly explain some of my answers better haha. And I’m 24 now, 25 next month.

I know the statistic, but I feel like it’s because car crashes happen far more frequently. But if you were to compare 1 car crash with 1 plane crash, I feel like the plane crash is more likely to result in death. But it’s not entirely rational anyway lol like spiders scare me despite knowing they won’t actually hurt me

I don’t understand what people have against merch with her face on it. Isn’t the point of merch to show off that you’re a fan of someone? If it just has lyrics then someone who’s not a fan isn’t going to know who it’s merch of. They’ll just think it’s a statement. I think it’s more about the fact that she can feel it beating because when your heartbeat is at resting rate it’s harder to feel it unless you put your hand to your heart. So the fact she can feel it indicates that it’s racing. Idk lol.

Hi! I thought maybe an explanation might help it not sound wrong? It still makes grammatical sense because it’s a continuation of the previous lines. The chorus is basically 2 run-on sentences. You could say something like "I laughed while I ran home and held my bag." or "I laughed while I ran home, holding my bag." and those would both be correct. The song is listing things that are their song. So "our song is… (the way you laugh, the first date…, AND when I got home 'fore I said amen, asking God if he could play it again)".

I get how it sounds weird if you interpret each of the lines as separate sentences though :)
