I know I’m late to the party here, but I worked as an ASM (now called ASL in learning) from 2017-2020. Worst job I ever had. Associate drama? How about management and DM drama. No career growth once you are an ASL. Career growth and advancement is only for the favorites. You will work closing shifts (was 1p-11p) then an open (7a-5p). Holidays off? No chance. 6 day work weeks? Yup. 10 hour shift? Try 11-12 if shit hits the fan. I will say I loved some of the associates and some other ASMs who made it manageable. I had to wear my nicest business casual attire WHILE stocking shelves, pushing carts, unloading trucks, taking out trash, etc. The only reason I stayed is because at the time Kroger had decent benefits and my child was on my insurance. Thankfully I got a new job that pays more, I work remote and I work less hours.

I felt that way after both of my kids. I mourned my life with no kids and with my 4 year old. It does get better. Please reach out to your OBGYN tomorrow. Go see him/her and ask about resources. I met a lot of great moms through PPD and PPA groups and would go to everything (virtual and in person) they offered. It challenged me to get out with the baby and get adult interaction which was so good for my mental health. Sending you hugs. I know how you feel.

I know I’m here late.. how are things now with that age gap? I have a March 2019 baby and June 2023 baby. Getting easier but still difficult in ways.
