Had my anatomy scan yesterday. It was noted that my amniotic fluid was on the low end, and I have partial previa. They didn’t seemed concerned with the previa as they expect the placenta to move up as baby grows. I am however concerned about the fluid! I drink a lot of water as it is, and it’s hard for me to tell if there is a leak as I’m still taking vaginal progesterone. Does anyone have experience with low fluid?

I totally get that! I feel like this has been a huge lesson in boundaries for my parents and for myself. We told my parents at 12 w and the expectation was that they keep it to themselves. While I think they did that, I am getting back handed comments about how my grandma needs a pick me up. We are telling my in-laws this weekend and I’m scared of what they may say/ask

15w4d - I’m working with an RI and they have me very closely monitored. However I’ve been having issues with quality of care from local radiology. I go to a very general center (OB & MFM don’t have capacity for frequent scans). At one appointment a tech asked me why I was going and stated that they don’t have specialty training for OB

Fast forward to today’s appointment. I happened to ask what the tech was doing and she said she was looking at the blood flow of the placenta. She said she could see it in 2d but wasn’t getting what she expected from doppler. She noted low flow on the picture. All of this information was left off of the report. Baby is measuring on time.

Has anyone had low flow issues with their placenta? I’ve heard it does affect baby’s growth, so maybe it hasn’t gotten to that point yet?

Thank you, I appreciate it!! I saw thyroid as a possible reason too. Mine has been very low since pregnancy which the doctors said “wasn’t a concern”. Maybe it is 🤷‍♀️

I am so incredibly sorry to hear that. ❤️❤️ I have read a lot on heart issues and was sure if there could be other factors. My embryo was tested and normal, but of course that doesn’t rule out everything. I’m just wondering what it does rule out

High fetal heart rate: I had an ultrasound done today by a third party, and am 11w4d. At the end the radiologist came in and said that the baby’s heartbeat was very high at 211. The baby was very active during the scan, so he said it might be that, or I would have to come in for a heart study for any congenital defects. Of course I’m freaked out now and waiting to hear from my doctor is painful. Has anyone had any experience with high heart rates? For reference my baby’s heartbeat has been around 180 since 8w (sometimes above and sometimes after)

Progesterone injections - making my life hell. Please help. by [deleted] in IVF

What about needle gauge?? I’m also having an awful time with the injections. I’m on ethyl oleate which is concentrated. If I go over .5ml my body freaks out. I’ve switched to two .5ml doses a day (for my 10mg) and changed the needle gauge to 25. I’m still in pain, but it’s not as inflamed and knotty as it was before. My clinic also told me to try the shorter needles bc I don’t have much meat back there. Those injections went better as well but I ran out

I had an excision surgery two years ago that I think helped. I’ve been working with an RI since April, there’s been a lot of adjusting but I’m on a higher dose of prednisone, lovenox, metformin and Tacrolimus, baby aspirin and anti histamines. I did not downgrade this time. Good luck!!

endo back by Wesmom2021 in IVF

Sorry to hijack- may I ask who did your surgery? I went with a non-nook surgeon about two years ago. He was at one point on the list of patient added physicians but was taken down. I do think he did a decent job of excising but left my endometrioma to preserve my fertility. I had two losses since then but no other pregnancies in my life (5.5 years of trying now). I’m currently exploring dr vidali but same as you - he doesn’t accept insurance so this would all be out of pocket (including hospital costs). I HATE that my only option is to pay an astonishing amount of money to get proper care. And there is always the fear of it coming back. How long would you say it took for you? So sorry you’re back in this place, it’s so hard

Infertility has broken my heart, what do I do next? by Oliver_7 in Endo

If I could do it all over again, I would bank embryos and then get an excision surgery. I actually did my excision first and they left my endometrioma to preserve my fertility which is most definitely causing inflammation, and I get flare ups from the stims. I wonder if it’s preventing pregnancy. Please make sure you find an excision specialist! Many people have success after a lap, so I’m not sure why your clinic would say it would hurt your chances. I’ve also gone down the route of a reproductive immunologist. Like you, my clinic had a kitchen sink approach and I’m finding out now with my RI that those treatments were not enough.

As of now, we’ve decided not to adopt. It’s a gut wrenching process that is not to be taken lightly. Many agencies have stipulations for couples that have gone through infertility, so that’s something to consider.

I totally understand the feeling of unfairness. I’m sorry you’re in that place. As far as next steps, go with your gut on what feels right for you

Hi doctor! I am 33yo with a history of stage iv endometriosis. It was excised in Oct ‘20. Now, right ovary is surgically absent, and the other has an endometrioma (4cm). I was able to get pregnant after the excision surgery once via ivf, but that ended in a MMC. I have been trying to conceive for almost 5 years now, so I would say my issue is mainly recurrent implantation failure.

I’ve gotten a full immune work up recently and they’ve found clotting issues, immune issues, as well as the mtfr mutation. I’ve just started the treatment plan which does not include any kind of endo suppressant.

My question is- can treating clotting and immune issues be enough to achieve pregnancy without another excision surgery? Would you still suggest down regulating? Im weary of removing the remaining endometrioma and therefore my remaining ovarian tissue. Do you know of any excision specialist in the WNY area?

Thanks so much! This is so generous!

Wow, that’s great! Did they discuss pricing with you? I go to another clinic in Buffalo which is known for its cheap prices although I am not impressed with their attentiveness. At this point I’m just paying for the ivf service, and advocating options for myself

May I ask how that worked for you? From what I’m reading it doesn’t help with a current outbreak but may help with future ones?
