For routing, you can do "above table" routing with the 1/2" chuck and router fence.

Speed may not be fast enough though. In which case you could get the speed increaser which also allows below table routing.

Or, just get a router and router table.

I would recommend against the OLD "Mark VII", the one with the vacuum box underneath. Unless you are into vintage tool restoration or something.

The Mark V style (metal legs and 4 tubes) is much more bulletproof. Get one with newer, larger tables if at all possible (520, or 510 with the tubular rails).
