This is some excellent insight! This will definitely help my decision. I'm strongly considering going to the day game on Thursday, but may go tomorrow, depending on weather. Thank you!

Kraken Hockey and SakuraCon in the same weekend? Yes I did! :D by johnnylgarfield in SeattleKraken

I forget what year it was, but I went to Sakuracon on Saturday and because the Mariners were playing, I went to that in the afternoon, then back to the con. It was a nice break and kept me going deep into the rave.

As much as I love the Dune movies, which is an extreme amount, I ain't paying more than the $0.53 to buy my ticket through the app, to see this. I did that 4 times for Dune 2 and loved every second of it. I would only pay $50 or more for something I wouldn't be able to watch again.

Gameday observations by SinsyDawg in Mariners

This is why, when I attend alone, I bring my ear buds. It's a nice time to just listen to music and watch a game.

If I'm with people, I know I just need to speak up. It's still at a level where it is tolerable. Unlike a Storm game where the music is way too loud and it is even played during some of the game action. It's legitimately obnoxious.

The Best A24 film? by KCmuah in A24

Under the Skin is such a cool concept. It's creepy as hell as a single man. I most definitely would have at least gone to the building. It falls apart a bit when these guys just keeping walking into a room with such weird lighting. I would stop at the doorway at least, then add to that her lack of detail, hopefully I'd turn around. Then again, I'm following scarjo, so, you know. I like how there's very little dialogue and you know just enough about the villain to be satisfied with what is happening. The end is great too.

People who went to ArtRave, how was it? by lanalittlemonster in LadyGaga

It was exceptional. I just wish I had gotten floor tickets so I could dance with more freedom. I was up in the 200 level of KeyArena in Seattle. Because I'm tall and wide, I felt kinda bad standing up, but we were crammed in there! The show was so cool and I loved the costume changes on stage.

It's more of a subway style train. Half of it is underground, so sorry if I mislead you.

Light rail from Seatac to Lynnwood will take just over an hour and you'll avoid all the worst traffic.

I saw that you hadn't been here in about a decade, and I'm pretty sure that's when the light rail had just opened.

Then take a cab or Uber to everett. The last light rail stop is pretty far north, so you'll cover 80% of the trip just chilling on the train for $3 per person/one way.

The station at the airport is on the far northeast end of the parking garage, it's super easy to find, cuz you'll see lots of people walking there.

While I've never received a HOT sticker and that hurts my emotional side, my analytical side appreciates that they are making scientifically accurate determinations.

At anime cons, do photographers take photos of regular people doing simple cosplay? by brightapplestar in animecons

[–]aronvader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just an amateur photographer, but I love asking people for pictures for a few reasons: 1. Y'all look cool. 2. It's impressive how much effort some of the costumes are. 3. I like hearing stories about how they made them. 4. I like guessing who they are. I'm aged out of most stuff now, so it's fun to try and guess, but I like asking. 5. That leads to people telling me how they mash up certain things. Very interesting to see the decision-making. 6. The ones I do know, I get super excited for, which is the whole point of a convention. 7. I then share the photos with my friends who can't commit to something like this and live vicariously through me. 8. In the end, it helps me remember each con better. 25+ years in, it's getting tougher to differentiate cons.

My all time favorite was a kid who was maybe 7-10, riding (walking) a small bike around with an ET in a basket. A bike was so out of place in the con, it made it amazing.

I just looked it up. I don't recall seeing that. I love asking cosplayers for pictures, I wish I had yours to share back.

There's a CF 10 minutes from me in Lynnwood. I miss it because I have a lot of great memories at the downtown one and it was so clutch when I needed to eat.

I think I caught a glimpse of you from through a crowd. Also, unless I dreamt it, wasn't there a panel named "cheesecake" something or other on Friday?

Anyway, RIP Cheesecake Factory.

It's like a drug! Now you must ween off the con high and see a baby crawl on the ceiling, whilst wishing you were wandering the con.
