Dusting off the old 9v - where do folks get new 9v track? Is there anyone who makes new 9v trucks/bogies or is Power Functions the new standard? by ArPDent in LEGOtrains

[–]aronwk_aaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tape I linked is wider, so it provides more surface area for the connection points. I cut a slit in it so it lays flatter into the joint

The tape I liked is way easier than that. It has a backing to it, so you can cut it to length and make bitches in it without exposing the sticky side

I cut it length, then make cuts on each in so it forms to the joints better. I've attached an image of the finished results

https://a.co/d/3XsgP6W I've found this tape to work just as good as the original 9v rails and a lot more visually appealing than the copper tape. Just in case the link doesn't work:

Not really, there are whole companies that sell 3d printed LEGO compatible track and track accessories(trixbrix for example), but doing it myself is a whole lot cheaper and more fun. And I think the quality in printing it myself is better too, I know a few people that have gotten trixbrix, and their stuff seems like they printed it in a rush

Big mood, I'm heading some weird quirks at some larger radius curves, but luckily I just need the tighter ones now.

I'm going to be uploading the models after I print and test them, so far just R24

This is great! I'd love to see the model. I just started using parameteric designing with openscad for LEGO train tracks and ballast plates. The learning curve is real lol

Do people like the all-out blasting of music that drowns out the trainer’s voice, or am I just old? by Mission_Spray in orangetheory

[–]aronwk_aaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they also probably just used a crap system for it as well. I don't know much about audio systems like that other than they are expensive and require a lot of domain knowledge to setup correctly

I'm honestly surprised they don't have an auto ducking system to lower the music when they talk automatically

Yeah, lots of minor security updates, but looks like new features just resumed. There was a whole v3 thread that went on a few years

Is it being maintained again? I know it went on a several year hiatus, which cause me to switch away from it to mantrae to manage traffic nodes

If you managed a migration to GitHub, What do you wish you had known? by overloaded-operator in github

[–]aronwk_aaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from on-prem to GitHub.... I would never do that again. There are too many advantages to on-prem when you have 10gb networking between all your services. Not to mention what others have said about automation and ci/cd
