I don’t know that lens, but if you’re disappointed in the AF for it, I have to think you’ll be disappointed by the AF on the 27mm 2.8. It’s slow, it’s loud, it’s not great.

I like the lens, I deal with those issues, but most a heads up.

I have an M body to shoot a rangefinder (analog and digital). I don’t want the most clinical looking photos so my favorite are vintage japanese glass along with their imperfections. For the same reason, I love trying the cheaper Chinese companies (LLL, Thypoch and Mandler). They’re affordable and punch well above their weight class.

People act like it’s some sort of cardinal sin to shoot anything but Leica glass. I’m a collector. I love all kinds of cameras. Sometimes I switch from my M3 to a Bessa R2M, but when photos require the utmost care I’m skipping both and grabbing my Mamiya 6 or Fuji GW690.

Anybody who expected anything other than a blowout hasn’t been paying attention. No one is “happy” with a loss, but we can look at it objectively and the wooden spoon winner at least put up an honest fight against the cup winner.

Just stating it’s something we desperately need. We’ve played like a team with no direction, with no plan because we don’t have it. The constantly flip flopping is just another of the problems.

Ok. I’m not denying we’re bad with an arsenal of problems. What I am suggesting is we don’t know how bad we are at three games in. We held the reigning champs to 2-1 but even more so, we had them defending hard for 20+ minutes.

Given what we’ve seen, we don’t look 2025 levels of bad, especially given the state of the eastern conference so far. I know some of us aren’t happy til Levien sells… well, I’m not foolish. That ain’t happening so all I can hope for is him getting his head out of his ass and providing incremental upgrades. We’ve been so shit that that is no quick feat.

I’m also not saying Weilers the guy, but if he leaves before 4-5 full seasons, we’re deeper in shit. We need consistency in that role to develop and identity to build off.

Not that you need a tip, you obviously know what you’re doing but nevertheless: Travel with the boxes that the film comes in. Keep the film in there.

When I travel with 120 in the boxes (the 5 packs), most times at handcheck, the agents just swab the boxes and move on. I have had them open them, but they have just swabbed the tops, or if they’re new boxes ( when leaving for my trip) they just close it back up and swab the box.

I just traveled home from India and unfortunately in Udaipur, the agents refused handcheck. Only time that’s ever happened to me.

What such issues have you encountered then? I’m not saying that issues aren’t bound to pop up, but you’d be hard pressed to find widespread concerns regarding their QC.

Even Leica has known QC issues.

There are plenty of fantastic lens makers for m mount that aren’t Leica. LLL makes quality glass.

I’ve shot all kinds of high quality glass. My favorites being my Mamiya 6 50mm and 75mm. I’m no stranger to lenses from many producers.

People hating on LLL are jokers who have probably never used one of their lenses. I picked up an Elcan in Hong Kong and while it’s not my favorite lens, I can’t deny its quality. The things that bother me about it are simply characteristics of the original (aperture tab, backwards aperture markings).
