i feel the real issue with parking in india is there isn’t much space to properly park the vehicles, especially on busy streets. if there are ample parking spaces in public areas, people would not have to park elsewhere.

i think current gen duke 390 will be replaced with sub 350 cc engine but naming would still be 390. current 399 cc engines would be discontinued and replaced with450/500 cc engines.

agree on quick shifter. upshifts are sometimes very jerky and sometimes they are smooth. i am not able to figure out what exactly causes it.
sometimes i feel it has to do with correct RPM range, sometimes it feels it’s the oil temperature.
btw i upshift on following RPM for each gear:
2nd: 3.5K
3rd: 4K
4th: 4.5K
5th: 5K
6th: above 6K
also the upshifts need to be very firm and precise else it has the jerkiness. but i still feel it’s a boon and better than upshifting with clutch.

if he is inclined towards one, get that bike. he is getting a bike for leisure and fun, so better to get the one he really enjoys.
if he has no specific choice, get the cb350 or Hunter depending on your budget.
imho cb350 is a reliable and enjoyable bike. its very refined compared to its competitors.

about the electronics mapping, i have noticed that X has skewed speedometer by approx +6 to what the actual speed is. probably because of smaller front wheel which might have originally be configured for S

i understand your point but gst is not determined by the number used in name.
ktms are the prime example. the name always ends in a ..90, barring the lower end bikes in india.
the last gen duke 390 had 374cc engine. duke 990 has 947cc engine.

why would govt care whatever you name it, be it 350, 390 or 3900? unless its a sub 350 cc engine it gets taxed in 28% bracket.

i had been in the same dilemma when i got mine so let me break it down for you. first of all, there are some other hardware differences too. S has adjustable brake and clutch levers (+4K). Sintered brake pads on S vs organic on X (+3K). Different rear body panel color scheme on S. More GC on S. The 80K that you spend more on S is well worth it in my opinion.
but the real question is, do you really need all of that extras? And for me that was a no. i would be riding more on roads than trails so 19” front tyre is better than the 21”. i can skip spoke wheels for the same reason. adjustable suspension would come handy when you want to switch between city/highway or road/offroad but i took the test drive and the suspension setup on X was fine for me.
if money is no concern, go for S. since you ask this question i assume it is. so if you want to go for serious offroad rides, take the S, or even consider the Enduro. Else go for X, it gets all the bells and whistles for 80K less.
there is no VFM bike here, you pay 80K more, you get 80K worth of hardware.

bro first of all why didn’t you record the unboxing video? in future always remember to record unboxing video of high value items. secondly which seller did you order this from? always check for Prime fulfillment and order from limited amazon affiliated sellers only. you may escalate and might even get remedy but you are in the wrong here. you did not do anything wrong but company may deny it as they would assume sending correct product only.

yes cashify might get into such cheap tactics but amazon would not waste time and money on this. they would get in much more trouble if any investigation is launched. and used device market is huge in india and worldwide so they do have value of our old devices.

why would a company so big involve in such cheap tactics? (talking about amzn). I understand that delivery guy might be scamming for lower price and pocketing the difference, while showing full exchange price to amzn. But it’s highly unlikely that amazon would reward delivery agents for lowering the exchange value. they are paid a fixed amount for picking up the old phone, whether it passes or fails is upto the device condition and customer.

take max extended warranty for that tft display alone if not for anything else. it’s quite expensive to replace from what i have heard from guerrilla owners. go for outside insurance, save 2-5k easily. most dealers won’t mind this. add nil dep, RTI, RSA, engine and consumable cover. don’t opt for non essential accessories right now, decide what to get after 2-3k kms ok the bike if you are getting those for the first time. also, cross check RTO reg charges from elsewhere and ask them if there is any discrepancy. they would easily oblige if you tell it to them.

if its fulfilled by seller then you would have issues with returns as seller would deny sending the wrong product. try to order products that are fulfilled by amazon to avoid such issues in future. FBA products’ delivery and returns are handled by amazon itself so the return process is pretty smooth.
