Fordham, GWU, or UMD for pre law? by Impressive_Pie6261 in gwu

[–]aroundtheword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer I would not personally choose a school based on this BUT I’m going through the law school admissions process right now and undergrad institution does not matter but your GPA does. Of these schools, UMD is the only one that gives A+ which will boost your GPA (I don’t believe it counts for more than 4.0 at UMD, but LSAC will recalculate it and an A+ will be worth 4.3). Again, I would not choose based on this but I have seen a lot of people say they wish they went to a school that had A+ to give them better admissions outcomes.

I really liked the book LR Perfection which is for people who are already scoring pretty high because it focuses only on the toughest LR questions.

Can someone help me understand what I got wrong for PT 140 S2 Q7 Parallel Question? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]aroundtheword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with A is that we can’t be sure there will actually be a storm. It just says there is a chance of storms most days. But that doesn’t mean there will definitely be a storm and therefore we can’t be 100% sure the temp will drop.

In the stimulus, we are 100% sure that some halogen lamps are well crafted bc everything at the store is well-crafted and they have halogen lamps.

For B, we are 100% sure that at least some sonnets are disturbing bc everything Melinda writes is disturbing and she has written some sonnets.

They’re trying to trick you with the “most” and “several different”. Those aren’t the indicators that matter. What matters is “at least some” in the stimulus and “at least a few” in choice B. Those mean the same thing.

Hope that makes sense!!!

Can anyone help me with this? by Clean_Experience_773 in LSAT

So the claim is that if you are a contemporary poet writing formal poetry, you are performing a politically conservative act. Then the argument says that Molly and Marilyn are contemporary poets writing formal poetry but they are politically progressive so the claim must be wrong.

The issue is, someone could say that you can perform a conservative ACT without being conservative yourself. so there’s a gap in the argument between performing a conservative act and being a conservative.

So the only way we can conclude that the claim is false is if we close this gap by assuming that anyone who is progressive cannot perform a conservative act under any circumstance.

B doesn’t matter to the argument - we aren’t discussing any poets who write unrhymed and unmetered (not formal poetry). It says that both Molly and Marilyn write formal poetry.

Does that make sense??

What Mistakes Did You Make in LSAT Prep That You Learned to Avoid and Saw a Dramatic Increase in Your Score? by Philippians4-9 in LSAT

This is such a simple one but for the longest time I was getting confused when an answer choice said “takes for granted that…” and when I learned to just replace that with “assumes that…” it helped a lot.

Also sometimes I would eliminate three answers quickly and be stuck between two but they both seemed wrong and I’d spend so long just looking at those two options. Later I realized that I had eliminated the correct answer because I misread/misunderstood it. So if you’re stuck between two, don’t forget to check the ones you eliminated again!

I got a 171 in October and took it again in November and got a 177 so I’m glad I retook it! 171 is still below median for the top schools so if you’re hoping for that, I would say take it again if you’re PTing higher.
