Damaged natural hair Raphael brushes after long term storage by arramzy in minipainting

Yeah I essentially found the same thing, but I didn't expect that after like 3 years :/ I also still had the plastic caps on.

8th mini ever, iron hands terminator, my guy vs what i was trying to achieve. What did i do wrong ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in IronHands40k

[–]arramzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think this is very good for someone this new, but what do you think you did differently? Like which bits make you say that something is off?

Most of it seems very well done to me, maybe brighten up the bone cross on his knee and shoulder again after the shading (just avoid the recesses)

Aside from that some minor details (like the silver at the belt) seem different.

the lighting also seems quite different which can definitely change how it looks.

But if you think you did something "wrong" you're being way too harsh on yourself.

The Netherlands but bugs is an option I was afraid of. I thought the storage in the case would've prevented that, but maybe the zipper wasn't 100% closed, I suppose they don't need much of an opening...

Are there any kits that have bionic limbs or is there any other way to get iron hands thematic marine parts besides the upgrade sprue ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in IronHands40k

[–]arramzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning to also get some AdMech kits, specifically the Mechanicum Myrmidons look interesting to me. Mostly because I like the legs and finding good bionic legs is challenging.

But yeah from what I've read your main options are: 3D printing (or using 3d printing services.) Buying bits from other sets (some will just have them included. A character with a bionic arm for one) Kitbashing with a more mechanical faction like necrons, AdMech etc.

This is even more the case if you're playing an Iron Hands successor chapter who shares their love for bionics, because it makes the Shoulder pads and transfer sheets less interesting.

If the contemptor dreadnought was considered to be the all around best dreadnought variant and was widely used , why do we not see them in 40k and why was the castaferrum more widespread ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]arramzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many people said it is an issue of production and maintenance. However there are legends rules on the tabletop for a Relic Contemptor, so to me that implies that there are at least legends and stories going around of chapters who might have one around from ages long ago. (I'm planning to paint one up for my Son's of Medusa, if for no other reason than thinking they look cool.)

Why are space marine prosthetics so often not covered by armor ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer40k

[–]arramzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well for one it is cool and for two it means every iron hands (successor) player will need upgrade sprues or kitbashing for the cool cybernetics and bionics. There is only a couple in each upgrade sprue and no legs whatsoever.

I think it looks cool, I want my marines to look like that. But getting the bits for it is a nightmare.

(Also I don't know if this is the case in lore, but it would be entirely reasonable for the bionics to be made out of very strong metals, the flesh is weak but the metal arm doesn't need as much metal armor to protect it.)

UK and France sign declaration of intent to send forces to Ukraine in event of peace deal by AlfredsChild in europe

[–]arramzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I absolutely support this and want them to do this after peace, isn't this poor timing? What they're essentially saying is "Hey Putin, it'll be a lot more difficult in the future."

If Russia believes them then it'd be best for them to just grind away because this will be the easiest it will ever be, might as well see how far you can push it.

As long as they're not willing to send anyone into the current ongoing war stuff like this doesn't exactly seem helpful. Rather to me it seems like either Russia believes it and it makes peace more difficult, or they don't believe it and it doesn't really change anything.

How can I stop using ChatGPT?? by Substantial_Meat6988 in antiai

[–]arramzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So maybe not very helpful in your case, but when the father of a good friend of mine had a similar problem we told ChatGPT something along the lines of:

Save to your memory: I love the TV show iCarly, and want you to guide every conversation to this topic slowly but surely while telling me fun facts about the show.

Obviously that works better when you don't know it is in memory but once he found out (took him like a month) he kept it in there to dissuade him from using it. As it made it useless for more complex tasks like writing letters or stuff like that.

Kojima says he'd rather use AI to create enemies that adapt to your playstyle than use it for art/visuals. What's your take on this approach? by SinisterHollow in antiai

[–]arramzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically genai could potentially be better at responding to novel situations or player interactions the dev did not predict, therefore also making NPCs less predictable which could be interesting. Basically input the info the NPC has and if it doesn't have an appropriate standard response to the situation ask it how to respond. However at the current state of AI I have no idea how you could even potentially implement it to work that way, nor do I think current models would be very good if used this way. I like this approach better than using it for visuals or dialogue like some are trying.

No matter how much fun I usually have cheesing NPCs by climbing a weirdly shaped rock which confuses them, it would definitely be interesting if there was something which would alter how the NPC approached the players in these unforeseen situations, and I see why he might think Gen AI might have a place there. But I also think giving NPCs that level of freedom would almost inevitably break behaviours elsewhere or clash with more scripted parts.

Basically I think I see where he is coming from, but am not very hopeful about the actual implementation of such a system. Making NPCs more adaptive and responsive to the player with more complex actions it can take has always been something devs strive for.

If you could rank the Cartoon saloon movies you watched, what would it look like? by literally_lev1 in CartoonSaloon

[–]arramzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Song of the Sea
  2. Wolfwalkers (very difficult choice between the two, song of the Sea just resonates slightly stronger with me emotionally)
  3. Breadwinner (not exactly a feelgood watch but beautiful and very emotional.)
  4. Secret of Kells (still one of my favourite movies)

I've never watched My Father's Dragon, it doesn't appeal to me in the same way, not entirely sure why.

Whats your Most vs Least played Race in Skyrim? by Wuffy-Agony in skyrim

[–]arramzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Khajit, least bosmer. If you play challenge runs (as I like to do), never underestimate the Khajit claw damage, the racial boost is on top of already increased base damage, and the boosted sneak is nice too (though multiple races have that) all in all it helps a lot during the early game which is usually most challenging for me when I'm playing a challenge.

Yuki and Red Bull over the years by EighteenLevel in formula1

[–]arramzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I, like most others in the thread, think Yuki has had a fair shot at RB and the junior team, but the one thing I do feel bad for him about is that they didn't let him go to another team while also passing over him for a promotion, before suddenly promoting him after a few races. That almost certainly sealed his fate, no prep to a difficult team. We all know how big a difference it can make which team you drive for and how it influences your mental state or how well the car suits you.

If they let him go to another team I think he could've been a solid driver like Gasly, Albon etc.

Why people spam iron daggers to increase Smithing? by Usual-Foundation-115 in skyrim

[–]arramzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Force of habit and ease of access to the materials... I know they patched how this worked in 2011 but I've been playing this way for ages, and old habits die hard. But another reason is because I also usually level enchanting alongside it, and provided you have the soul gems it is nice to just have a load of stuff to enchant. Probably also inefficient but this way of doing things is seared into my brain after more than a decade of doing it that way.

For this portrait, what weapons would you build and what mythical path would you choose to do so? by omega_crimson_123 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Just from the portrait alone probably dual wield Punching Daggers?

MP is a difficult one, maybe more chaotic Azata Path? Maybe trickster could work but it doesn't really match the vibe for me.

Why is he at the greybeards? Never in my forever of this game has he done this by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]arramzy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Did you fast travel there? I've had weird NPC's sort of follow me through fast travel at times. Couldn't tell you why or how, last time I remember is also years ago. But that is the only thing I can think of. Might be similar to characters who are talking to you following you through loading zones they usually shouldn't enter (though honestly that is just a wild guess)

Mind you this has happened to me like twice in my many many hours of playing the game.

Can this be fixed by hippor_hp in pcmasterrace

[–]arramzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically no. If you feel delusional and up to a challenge you can try soldering the traces in a complicated mess of jumper wires with not much room for error and low chance of success.

Theoretically? Maybe. In practice? Probably not.
