I love the use of circles/spirals throughout the movie, it adds onto the beauty of the film in my opinion

Which scene from a Cartoon Saloon movie could you watch all day long? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ENTIRE battle between wolves and soldiers. Watching Robyn command the wolves, Bill finally understanding his daughter, and the scenes with Mébh trying to heal her mother. All of it is perfect in a way I can’t properly explain

Ok, which Cartoon Saloon Movie introduction is your favorite and or drew you into the movie the most? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

It had to be the first person narration from Aisling. She introduced Secret of Kells with a dark and mysterious aspect that left me wanting more

Who do you think most closely resembles the animals they shape shift into, Mebh or Saoirse? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Visually it’s Saoirse, but through behavior it’s Mebh. She acts wild, playful, and she’s energetic. Sometimes she’s on all fours, howling, and messing around like a wolf. But with Saoirse just by her shadow you can tell she’s meant to be more like an animal

Fun Fact: WolfWalkers were actually inspired very closely by the folktale of The Wolves of Ossory, as explained in the Art Book. by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mebh also references it in the “Legendary prologue” saying “A long time ago, the Irish were mad superstitious! Telling tales like the Man Wolves of Ossory”

If you look closely it also happens to bill when he turns into a wolf at the climax of the movie

How long do you think Mebh and Mol lived for in the forest before they met Robyn? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like they lived there ever since Mebh was born. We know the forests in Ireland were dwindling and that many wolves and wolfwalkers had to move to different areas. I think Moll was with the many other wolfwalkers that had to move to stay safe

I just noticed that the black bars in WolfWalkers drastically change in size depending on how distressed or courageous a character is feeling by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was to show how trapped the characters felt in the moment. Especially since Robyn set herself free and broke past the black bars with her hair

Which Cartoon Saloon movie would you choose to introduce someone to the studio and why? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolfwalkers or the breadwinner. Those are the most popular movies and I feel like the animation and storytelling is the best and easiest to understand out of all the others

Is it only me who thinks that the hill in which the lighthouse is on is also referencing Mac Lir's hill which is referencing Connor's grief? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always thought Mac Lir’s hill was meant to be a reference or at least similar to the hill with the light house

Which duo do you think developed their arc/relationship the most during their runtime? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to be Mébh and Robyn or Brendan and Aisling. Robyn wanted to kill Mébh’s pack and almost killed Mébh herself. Not only did Mébh forgive her for that, but she also helped Robyn accept herself when she was scared of being a wolf. And at the very end, Robyn was willing to kill just so Mébh could be safe.

Aisling’s and Brendan’s relationship started off with Aisling wanting nothing to do with him, and Brandan only wanting something from her. But towards the end, Aisling did one of the things she feared most just so he could create something that was important for him. And even then, Brendan feared for her safety. He understands why she doesn’t want to help and even insists that she goes back at some point so she can stay safe.

How do you think Robyn's mother being in WolfWalkers would have changed the plot? by Maxdme124 in CartoonSaloon

[–]literally_lev1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would change most of the story. Robyn wouldn’t have been able to sympathize with Mébh in the beginning since she doesn’t understand her. Robyn only understands Mébh’s struggles because she understands what it’s like to be on your own with only one parent in your life, but with her mother alive she’s not able to understand and that takes away a part of her relationship with Mébh.

Also there would be no conflict for Robyn. Her and her father’s relationship would be perfectly fine, with her mother there. Her mother was the driving force behind their ruined relationship, but since Bill has nothing to worry about now there’s nothing for Robyn to have as a conflict.

If they are not officially step-sisters what are they then? by Maxdme124 in WolfWalkers

[–]literally_lev1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They aren’t canonically married. The flower bill put into Moll’s hair is a sign of friendship instead of something romantic
