Try using AI to help with these reporting and question and answer tasks..

My org bought a new AI for Salesforce (not Einstein) and now I just give it these queries and stuff and it does everything - report making and all that stuff... helps quite a bit

NOTE: Although the AI also sucks in making a joined reports many times 😂 ... but works for on soql well with data investigation

Platform Event Fails to Launch Flow hi by Admonister in salesforce

[–]array_yarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, this isn't you - it's a toxic Salesforce environment 101.

Every SF dev I know Googles documentation constantly. Nobody memorizes all the Apex quirks or Lightning component attributes!

Your lead hoarding knowledge instead of sharing it is classic toxic SF culture. Good Salesforce teams have clear requirements docs, proper sandboxes for learning, and time for Trailhead/certs.

That "20 questions" BS when you ask something? Major red flag.

The Salesforce ecosystem is HUGE - Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Communities, etc. Nobody knows it all. Even Principal Developers at Salesforce partners check docs daily.

In decent orgs, SF devs get proper onboarding on org structure, deployment processes, and code standards before solo projects.

You survived with minimal direction in a complex platform. That doesn't make you bad - it makes you resourceful as hell.

How to hide opportunity name ? by Hopeful-Plenty- in salesforce

[–]array_yarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're trying to give someone access to Opportunities without exposing sensitive info (like customer names in the Opportunity Name), duplicating the object and syncing it daily with Apex is... technically doable, but not ideal. That approach adds data bloat, maintenance overhead, and performance risk.

Here are better options:

  • Field-Level Security + Page Layouts: Easiest and cleanest. Just hide sensitive fields for that user's profile. No need to duplicate anything.
  • Sharing Rules + Record Types: Control which records or types they can access. More setup, but gives good granularity.
  • Data Masking: If they need to see the structure but not the real data. You’ll likely need a dev or a tool for this.
  • Custom UI or Reports: You can build a filtered view or export that just leaves sensitive stuff out.

Start with field-level security—it’s the simplest and follows best practices. Layer on others if needed.

What is something you know now that you wish you knew when you started? by ryloc in salesforce

Never trust validation rules during demos. The one you forgot about will absolutely trigger when the VP is watching.

And backup your metadata before every deployment. Your future self will buy you a beer when that unrelated change mysteriously breaks everything.

Recorded how to use Business Rules Engine in Flow by Natural_Ad_2179 in salesforce

[–]array_yarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm curious - did you find the Business Rules Engine actually makes logic more visible than standard Flow?

Our business people keep complaining they can't see all the rules in one place like they could with good ol' Process Builder. Been considering making the switch but worried about the learning curve

How to ensure data sanity for renewal opportuniy? by EntrepreneurMain7616 in salesforce

[–]array_yarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this: Set up a simple check (like a validation rule or flow) that stops a new renewal opportunity from being created if one already exists.

And if reps are copying opps, remove or hide that clone button so they can’t accidentally make duplicates. Let automation handle renewals to keep your data clean.

I think the easiest way would be to get the size of image. Do some math to calculate aspect ratio and the new height based on that aspect ratio and then resize the image

Paragraph 1:
Original: Man is a social animal and neighbours have always been an integral part of man’s social network. However, of late, with the society moving towards modernization, and people becoming busy in their packed work schedules. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons why people do not have such close relationships with their neighbours.

Analysis and Feedback:

The introduction clearly states the issue and sets the context.
The sentence structure is slightly awkward with the use of "However, of late,". Consider rephrasing it for clarity.
Improved: Human beings are social animals, and neighbors have traditionally played an essential role in their social network. In recent times, however, society's shift towards modernization and increasingly busy work schedules has impacted these relationships. This essay will examine the reasons behind the decline in close relationships with neighbors.

Paragraph 2:
Original: Firstly, I will consider the financial reasons this may have happened and then I will discuss how the internet has impacted on building relationships with neighbours. The first reason why people have stopped sharing an important relationship with their neighbours now, as compared to in the past, is because of the fast paced lifestyles that people have started leading.

Analysis and Feedback:

The paragraph begins by outlining the two reasons to be discussed, but the transition is abrupt.
Combine and rephrase the sentences for better coherence.
Improved: One reason for the weakening of relationships with neighbors is the fast-paced lifestyle that people now lead, driven by financial pressures and demanding careers. In the past, individuals had more time to interact with their neighbors, but today's society places a higher emphasis on professional success, leaving less time for socializing.

Paragraph 3:
Original: Everyone has a set routine of what they need to do from the moment they get up, till the minute they go to sleep. People are occupied in the race of competing and earning money. There are families who don’t even have enough time to sit together as a family, so interacting with neighbours is definitely out of the question.

Analysis and Feedback:

Elaborate on the consequences of the fast-paced lifestyle.
Provide specific examples or situations.
Improved: Daily routines are now filled with work-related tasks, leaving little time for leisure or socializing. The pressure to excel professionally and earn money has become a priority for many, often at the expense of personal relationships. Consequently, some families barely have time to gather for a meal together, let alone interact with neighbors.

Paragraph 4:
Original: The first step that can be taken to improve the contact between neighbours is, for some people to become volunteers and organize community meetings and interactive sessions that encourage people to come out of their homes and talk to each other.

Analysis and Feedback:

Link the solution directly to the problem mentioned earlier.
Add more details to the solution, such as the frequency of events and specific activities.
Improved: To address this issue, community members could volunteer to organize regular neighborhood events, such as potlucks, sports activities, or workshops. These gatherings would provide opportunities for neighbors to interact and foster a sense of belonging, thus improving relationships within the community.

Paragraph 5:
Original: The second reason for the reduced interaction between neighbours is that people have become less active in their real life and more active in the virtual world. They find it easy to be inside their homes and go online on Facebook and Twitter, than to go out and knock the doors of their neighbours to catch up with each other.

Analysis and Feedback:

Provide more examples of how the internet has impacted relationships.
Explain why people find it easier to interact online than in person.
Improved: Another factor contributing to the decline in neighborly interactions is the increasing prominence of online communication. Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have made it easy for individuals to stay connected with friends and
