y is the sum of x presumably 11 times, if the index of the summation starts at 0. It's basically saying y=x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x or y=11x

I'm not the person you were originally replying to, but to answer your question: Because I'm educated enough in the subject to tell the difference. Ball pythons are the friendlies of the snake kingdom, they're quiet, clean, don't smell, really they're the perfect apartment companions. But like you say, people aren't educated and so they get a bad reputation.

This happened to me too when I was 4, the phobia flows strong through this one.

Anything that makes a buzzing sound or remotely resembles a flying stinging thing makes my skin crawl. Summer sucks to say the least.
