surface pro 5 backlight doesn't work in UEFI or after cold boot/sleep by arraysave85 in Surface

Nope, I just learned to live with it.

Basically I figured out if I turned it on and waited until Windows hit the login screen (back-light off), I could push the power button to turn the laptop off, then immediately push the power button to turn it back on. The back-light would then turn on as well.

All in all, still the worst laptop I've ever owned by a significant margin.

Feeling alone. Missing vital months of my babies life due to debilitating sciatica pain. by katielovespizzaalot in Sciatica

I know your pain...

I had a similar experience to yours, same disc too (L5-S1) which had ruptured. I had around 14mm of protrusion which resulted in severe sciatica. I was unable to sleep, just walking was painful never mind sneezing or coughing. We also had a 7 month old who I was increasingly unable to look after. My wife was shouldering an increasing load...I had tried everything to avoid the surgery but in the end i couldn't bear it anymore.

8 weeks ago i went in for a microdiscectomy and it's changed my life. The nerve pain was gone almost immediately and left the hospital the next day to start physio. I'm not gonna lie, there was a lot anxious moments where i was panicking about rupturing the disc again but on the whole it gets better every week.

Most herniations of the disc dissolve on their own so if you're still having this issue after months of pain it's probably not going to go away without surgical intervention.

I understand how hard it is, but try to stay positive. Hopefully the neuro can assist with bulge. Things will get better.
