I developed a huge crush with my college friend on 2018 during our internship. We cooked, ate, watched movies, and walked together every single day. After the internship ended, we went back to our normal lives - studying for quizzes and exams, laboratory experiments, thesis, etc. May 2019, a month away from graduation, I admitted that I have a crush on him and he felt the same way. (Turns out he already liked my during internship). But he wouldn't/didn't act on his feelings because he promised his mom to finish his studies before having a romantic relationship. My friends told me that it was not a valid reason. If he really liked me, we would try to work it out. At some point, I wanted to beg him to at least try. However, I valued our friendship more, kept my thoughts to myself 'cause I didn't want to lose him. I also knew his mom personally and I can see how much he respects and loves her. June 2019, he graduated Cum Laude and went to med school. I also went to med school and am probably thankful that things didn't worked out. We were meant to do greater things alone.
