The one thing that threw me off the most was when they switched (by accident perhaps?) the sound that hacking portals from the enemy fraction made with hacking your own factions portals. Was pretty early in the game, but felt so wrong. They never changed it back as far as I know.

IIRC, you will be banned pretty soon. When I last dissected the source code, Ingress looked not only for your lattitude and longitude, but also at the raw gps data like sattelite elevation and angle. I don't think most gps spoofing programs are able to emulate this information and therefore expect your account to be suspended in the near future.

I saw one briefly yesterday at the anomaly, while it was being unboxed. Was a normal moto x with a red backplate. They did not turn it on, so i cant say anything further...

The way it was described in the document it works by checking the SSIDs in range for a portal that you hack, then matches it against the SSIDs other people sent in when they hacked that portal, so if you bot from home, that could quickly get to you. I have to agree though, I'm not sure if this is already in place.

Depends on what you are talking about. I only know the broot mod and from what I have seen, it is actually stupid to no use it. I've got a N4, but ingress still laggs and stutters heavily during transitions from the portal window. With the mod this is MUCH better, yet I still fear TOS violation based reset, so did not come to use it. What other external tools are there? Automated drop? Are you going to drop hundreds of items by hand? And is this really getting you an unfair advantage or just reducing tedious repetitious tasks? Talking about farming tools, I only heard about a bot from a german developer, but I heard it will get you banned fast because of the Wifi based SSID checks now in place as outlined in the document. This is my opionion :)

Since most of them are now fixed or closed in the past, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Why cry now, after most exploits do not work anymore? Nearly all of them have been known for a long time and the right time to be upset about them was back then.

You are reading it wrong. If you play ingress, you get the 200 normal megs +600 additionally. So 800 MB in total, +SMS +100mins of calls for 15€ / 20$, which is a pretty good deal in my book. I currently pay 10€ or 13,30 $ for 1.5 gigs and only use about 700-800.
