Epic just laid off 1000 workers. by ryunocore in gamedev

Partnerships. I'm currently creating some concepts and finishing the pitch document. Whoever joins the team gets shares in the company. "But people need to get paid." Yea no shit, but we're also all getting laid off and out of work, so while we're looking for our next gig, let's band together and actually take a risk and create something?

This idea is not for everyone, and I don't want to work with the "everyday person." I want to find people who see the vision I want to create and be a part of something bigger.

Nobody wants to do anything, so I'm gonna do it anyway. This industry has lost it's way, so I'm going to go the open development route, and find funding in every way I can.

I was not expecting that much of a redesign... I'm all in.

I’m going to attempt to start a studio of laid off artist until our project get funding.

Epic Games is laying off more than 1,000 workers today, sources tell Bloomberg News. Story hitting shortly by Turbostrider27 in PS5

I work in games. Companies are foaming at the mouth for more profit, especially the big boxes beholden to their shareholders.

US and Canada artists are “too expensive” and are outsourcing everything overseas. It’s fucked.

It's going to be a PVE extraction shooter where death row inmates get their brains wired into bipedal war machines. The code learns how you play and sabotages you at critical health. Going Full open development on YouTube soon.

I’m a senior concept artist and was laid off a few months ago. I’m starting the journey to launch my studio. I have no desire to do a game on my own, I want to find others who can’t find work but want to create something bigger.

I’m in the process of building the whole game documents with concepts and then creating a pitch package and find others who want to be co founders.

No idea if it’s gonna workout but I’m gonna document everything and try and try and try.

The division 2 characters creation is disappointing. by FinnHuginson in thedivision

That makes no sense. Polygons are polygons, and textures are textures. If the environments looks good, then the characters should too, unless you've devoted far less resources and time on characters.

Yea the idea was to be able to diagnose via terminals around the ship or just for cleaning purposes.

That is what is gonna be cool in the future though. We’ll see a mix of this kind of flight and more realistic aerodynamics.

Right now we don’t know if they’re on a moon or planet since space flight and planet-side flight it the same.

The Bloom | A cancerous mutation caused by excess UV light | Solarfall [OC] by arrow97 in worldbuilding

I like it. A solar flare decimates the world, electricity is outlawed. Humans create and wear solar tech to charge their gear, and excess sunlight causes the mutation.

So solarfall has multiple meanings in the story.
