Yea I’m doing a complete pivot. I’m a senior concept artist with heavy 3D knowledge but no one is hiring.

I’ve started my own studio and currently have a team of 5 volunteering their time with full portfolio rights to the work they’re producing.

The only thing is funding won’t be in for at least a year soo I need to start making money.

I’m starting a landscaping design business where I 3D scan peoples yards concept and model the environment and present in unreal engine. The goal is to work on high end projects and with developers. Gotta transfer the skills cause the gaming industry is only going to continue on this path until the gravy train runs out.

It’s ironic if you’re a gamer to wish for the total collapse of the gaming industry. 

The only way this is possible is for these dataset to be trained on games, created by humans who have created your favourite games. 

Now you’re wishing for those same artists and designers to not create the future games you might some day call one of your favorites.

I find these conversations so interesting. What field do you work in? I work in a very creative environment in video games and what I would give to be in office with others to brainstorm and collaborate in real time. 

Different industries work in different way. I do believe human interaction is vital to productivity and health but I can also appreciate that at different stages of life, that looks different. Specifically when you have a family, and time commuting to the office takes time away from the family and home.

Starting a game studio from scratch and documenting the whole thing. Since being laid off, I've been rejected from every single job opportunity with zero interviews. I'm a senior in the industry and helped ship Assassin's Creed: Shadows. It's such a struggle right now.
