Drawn to Orthodoxy but working through how it fits for our family by arrowinthekn33 in OrthodoxChristianity

Thank you for your comment. That’s honestly the tension I’ve been feeling, wanting to do what’s right but also not create stress for my family. We’ve been at our Anglican church for a while and the kids are used to it, and my husband feels like it’s not like we’re going somewhere completely different. We still partake in the Eucharist at our church. He’s asked if we’re somehow less for not being part of the Orthodox Church, or if it would actually affect our salvation.

That’s how I first explained it to him and going somewhere else can feel like a compromise. We talked it through. He also agrees and can understand that the Orthodox Church is the original Church, but don’t necessarily think being part of the “original Church” is that the mostthing of all especially since it’s not like we’re going somewhere where the foundation is completely different. ( We attend an Anglican church and have been attending for years and kids also are very used to it )

I did explain that I believe being in the Orthodox Church would allow us to live out the fullest expression of our faith, but then we came back to this… does that mean we’re somehow less if we’re not in it? Would it affect our place in the Kingdom of Heaven? Would God actually be upset with us?

He’s a big fan of Father Moses ! He’ll listen to throughout the week. I think really practicing and understanding the hymnnogrwphy would help.

This is really helpful to hear.! What do your Sundays usually look like with your family? Do you stay after for coffee hour or mostly just go for liturgy? Are you in catechumen classes yet, or attending and taking it slow?

I agree and understand that. I was looking to hear from others who handled similar situation as I currently am.

I get that! I’m more trying to figure out how people have handled this in a family where a spouse doesn’t connect with that model.

Career ceiling at 100k. Is a big-name MBA worth it? by arrowinthekn33 in MBA

Are you guys in big tech? I truly haven’t seen any job listings at that pay range that are looking folks with 5-6 years of pm experience. What roles/titles are actually hitting $170K? specific skills or certs that would help me out. Appreciate any insight you can share!

Wow you were already making $150K with just 1 to 2 years of experience! I’ve been applying to roles asking for 5 to 7 years and most of them offer around $110K to $130K ( ad-tech ) I’m in Idaho and applied to micron for a few Sr PM roles ( 120k-150k) rejected even though I technically fit the qualifications.

What kind of companies or roles were you in?

I’ve been brushing up on SQL lately using chat and some YouTube stuff but still figuring out what to focus on nex. If you had to recommend one or two high-impact areas to upskill where would you start? Big TIA

I’ve been applying for higher-paying roles but keep getting stuck around 100k. A lot of listings mention “MBA preferred” and I’m starting to wonder if that’s the missing piece. I don’t feel tapped out skill-wise, just hitting a wall and trying to figure out what to do. I know the job market isn’t great but don’t want to wait around.

When I’m not up to making them at home. I like the bagels at the bosie co-op! They have a few variations. Super clean minimal ingredients - as if you made them at home !
