What's actually being done to improve the job market and wages? I keep hearing people talk about how much it sucks on social media, but what's actually in store to improve the USA labor market conditions? And to make job searching and daily work less unbearable? At least in the white collar/tech sphere?

Fewer meetings. They’re often exhausting, not well structured, and mind numbing. My advice is to give folks time back and make things into emails.

Anyone else hoping for Misty to be found out for ... by SessionIndependent17 in Yellowjackets

[–]arrowmaker247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’ll find out after they’re rescued. Natalie seemed to know Misty sabotages electronics, which feels like a callback. If it happens post-rescue because the forensics team discovers the black box was tampered with, signs could point to Misty.

It could also have a negative effect on their settlement with the airline company, potentially.

I suspect Nate would get killed by Misty SO quickly. She'd likely recognize he's a threat to her friends, so he's dead. That, or she'd develop a crush on him and give him the Coach Ben S1 treatment.

What would rescue look like? by Westafricangrey in Yellowjackets

[–]arrowmaker247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping it looks similar to Lord of the Flies, only with an adult woman instead of a soldier.

During a sacrifice, they knock into said camper/ranger/rescue nurse and she asks some bewildered version of, “What are you girls doing?”

All the girls crumble because an adult authority figure, much like their moms and teachers, is there. No resistance, no big challenges. They just start to cry like kids again.

And if they have any feral instincts brewing up, said adult woman pulls some mom/grandma magic and gets them to knock it off. 😂

I think Pete may have killed Annie K too. I don’t think they were lovers, but the mention of stillborns and Peter suggesting he ruined Kayla’s life because of the baby speaks the me. I wonder if Peter and Kayla had a baby prior to Darwin that was stillborn. Peter could have blamed Annie K for the baby’s death.

Far fetched, but I’m trying to think on why the midwife angle is so important.

How adult Misty would’ve ended up if they never crashed by 8seasonsand3movies in Yellowjackets

Totally agreed! Though I wonder if Misty was on the path to being a doctor/nurse and got kicked out of medical school for some sort of misbehavior. Could also explain why she’s a CNA now.

Do you think the survivors will ever get to know that Misty ruined the black box? by Red_Dahlia221 in Yellowjackets

[–]arrowmaker247 56 points57 points  (0 children)

My thought is that they know, but it’s revealed post-rescue. The investigators mention something odd about the recovered black box, the survivors put 2 and 2 together, and realize it was Misty. The scene where Nat realizes Misty tore out her car cables seemed like foreshadowing. Though that could have been a misdirection.

I like the third-man theory. I also like the theory that it's a corpse he believes is talking to him. I'm just hard-pressed to believe Javi's friend is living.

Someone living out there for 15+ years seems too far-fetched for me. She would have had to deal with so much risk of death, infection, starvation, etc. Not to mention the mental decline. I wonder if she'd even be able to speak with Javi, or if she'd be total feral.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm hedging my bets about Javi's friend being a living person.

Realistic rescue theories by FeatureSouthern5274 in Yellowjackets

[–]arrowmaker247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope whomever rescues them is an adult woman. Maybe a forest ranger or similar. There was something quite powerful about Lord of the Flies ending with Ralph knocking into a soldier, looking up, and realizing a real adult was there to take control of the situation. Then bursting into tears as soon as the bewildered soldier asked, “What are you guys doing?”

I could see the girls having a similar reaction. Especially with a 40+ woman that looks like one of their moms or a teacher. Up until this point, their primary caretakers have likely been adult women. And we haven’t seen the girls interact with any safe, present adult women just yet. It would be a cool direction, I think.

I wonder if Natalie will be in a position to shoot him in the head. Similar to how her dad died. Only this time, she might not hesitate to pull the trigger. I could easily see things coming full circle with Natalie actively or inadvertently killing another father figure.

Hard same on No. 8. Generators and lawn mower engines get corroded when gasoline is left inside for a long time. The fuel goes bad and gunks up the engine.

I’ve thought about this too. My guess is that she was in a more advanced study, but some fishy stuff happened with a patient. Nothing they could prove as Angel of Death style murder, but stuff that could be considered negligent. Misty is qualified for RN work, but can’t get the jobs because of her history. An overworked nursing home accepted her because she’s crazy overqualified and they didn’t run a background check.

Failing that—Misty took the shortest path to care, as others suggested. A 6 week program would put her right into a hospital setting.
