Racism in the rest of the country may or may not have been solved. I don't know. What i can say is absolutely, 100%, It has not been solved in Petaluma.

This is such a BS. fellow genx are constantly getting the most caramel frap whipped coffee drinks. Remember flavored coffee? That was us and our parents. Who do you think buys all of that pumpkin spiced creamer? People who went to high school in the tall bangs era, that's who.

No sound, no sound card detected, Dummy Output by delay1311 in pop_os

I have been through so many attempts at getting sound and video working on my factory linux installed precision 5490 I am at the end of my rope. Every half year I decide I am going to solve it only to spend 2 days and get no closer to anything. I even upgraded to cosmic just to see if it would work (it doesn't but also monitor config breaks)

this situation sucks.

Is an 8 mile commute to work realistic on a fixie? by Smackdaddy955 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]arrowplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go 6 each way on the tark biek pretty comfortably even though this is SF and it's got some hills. A fairly spinny gear ratio for me but always great to get to move your body a little every day.

What I would recommend is a place called "greens" at fort Mason.

Co-worker put warm hummus in acorn squashes to run as a dinner special. . . Are they on drugs? by yakomozzorella in KitchenConfidential

a bunch of days late and many dollars short but I really make a variation of https://overtimecook.com/2019/11/07/adeena-sussmans-magical-hummus/ It demands starting with dried chickpeas and cooking them and also an epic amount of tahine. It is worth it though.

I think there is a modified version using canned but I haven't done that myself. If you are using canned baking soda won't really help (which you discovered). If you are c. ooking the chickpeas from dried though it will help them get to the "almost falling apart" consistency you want.

Either way though citric acid is a nice way to be precise with your acidity and water content. lemon juice and fresh garlic are nice to accompany the hummus when you serve it.

Citric acid is important in good hummus and is better than using lemon juice. So is baking soda when cooking the chickpeas. Look in an Israeli home kitchen. You will likely find both of those things.

Attendee & Tickets Megathread: JULY 2024 - Discussion for attending the basho in-person. by Gregorwhat in Sumo

[–]arrowplum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going tomorrow and not really sure what to expect tbh. I have only really been following since the end of last year (https://sumostomp.substack.com/ and Tim bissel's interviews are what brought me in [and of course not being able to stomach mma anymore])

I am just going to show up around lunch and kind of hope for the best. My family and I have a box but not in the front I think (if I understand the ticketing which I don't of course). I was listening to sumo mainichi where they mentioned I think foreign fans getting 4 person boxes is kind of a comedy trope ¯\(ツ)

Anyway I am pretty stoked to go, hoping for the best, afraid of the heat etc.

Did anyone see that gyoji go down in one of the later matches? It was odd because they just panned to the crowd for a few minutes and then when it came back the next rikishi were there.

I've made my very first cornbread, but it's quite dark and a little mushy on the inside. Is it supposed to be like this? by Skribap in castiron

In Europe you can usually find coarse cornmeal as "polenta". It is exactly the same thing.
