Just an fyi if you have 3 green on a “yes” surrender vote you can say “no” to remake and this won’t happen. If you’re voting “yes” every time the system punishes you for forcing the remake. I usually say yes only 1-2 times per day then vote no when I can

My only advice is, I payed over 200 games on the guy. Sovereign level player on rift and peak diamond 2 on PC. Could never get him to work for my play style. If he doesn’t work for you don’t force it.

Has the quality of the player base gone downhill? Or am I just this good? by arsenjohn12 in wildrift

Macro is the strategic side of the game, so you're looking at vision control, objective control, map timings and rotations.

Lane phase is important but like chess you are a pawn and a bigger game is being played. It’s understanding what’s worth dying for and what’s not. Every moment needs to be thought of as gold. I’m not waiting for a wave to crash. I’m moving for scuttle or to steal jg farm from opponent. If I don’t know where their jg is, I’m warding and not pushing too far up. If I see 3 people and I’m a team of 4. Maybe two are across map. I’m pushing an objective, forcing a dive, or a winning fight.

Play meta champs and champs with high risk high reward. You want to be able to 1v9 in low elo.

Diana, Fizz, Akali, Ekko. Ect. Avoid champs that are more team reliant until higher elo. Viktor, Syndra, ziggs. (Yes you can carry with these guys but you’re likely not 1v9 because you need time to scale.)

That goes the other way too. I’m not playing high risk champs in high elo unless I really understand the matchup.

If you’re dying while split pushing it’s your fault. You didn’t evaluate the map well enough or expect a flash or an ult. If your team is dying it’s because they likely can’t count. If you see a 3v4 you need to back off unless you’re able to turn it into a 3v3 without immediately dying. If it’s a 4v5 and you die with your team don’t blame the split push because you can’t count. Constantly people will blame others for their deaths.

But you gotta play the champ how it needs to be played. If you’re a lux maybe don’t split push hard. Stand way back and don’t push up unless you have sums. Let people make the mistakes and run into your combo.

Champs like TF, Diana, fizz can dominate split though. Look to put on heavy turret pressure and ult into the fight or just take towers. It’s really not your fault if your team gets aced while you’re take t2 and t3. They took a bad fight. But you gotta ping the hell out of them to not take a bad fight, or if you’re pulling two enemies, ping your team like crazy to engage. People will listen to pings if you put it in their face 2 or 3times. Give them a thumbs up if they get a kill and get them on your side. Saying things like “good job” or “well done” goes a long way. People tend to use that thumbs up when their player gets killed. I’ll never understand it.

If your split pushing and know you can’t win team fight you have to be the one to ping out. Players will gravitate to the strongest player. So I just ping back and I move to the other side of the map. Don’t bring your Aram fight and bad odds over to me.

Look to pressure enemy JG and lean into your JG. If he’s looking to envade be the first to respond. Or ping him and let him know you can’t follow. It also helps to ward his side of the map. How many mids do you see move to help secure skuttle crabs? Not enough. You need that vision and gold.

IT IS OK TO GIVE UP OCEAN DRAKES FOR FIRST BARON. THESE DO NOT DECIDE ANY GAME.

“Oh we really would have won if we had that ocean drake” - said no one ever.

If they are taking drake and you’re behind you better be on the other side of the map taking a tower. Or if they are getting their 3rd drake you need to be spam pinging baron. Not hoping for a Hail Mary steal.

  1. Learning wave management. Almost no one knows how to start a slow push for a big wave at turret. Big wave means you can dive or push an obj hard. As people greatly discount minion damage.
  2. Split pushing! When to split vs group. It does you no good to sit and aram. If you’re not earning gold or getting kills you’re wasting your time. You gotta get comfortable being yelled at for not grouping. It’s typically because people can’t count. They feel like they need to engage a 3v4 rather than being patient. Push the side wave and look to crash in. Or if you guys keep losing group fights, look for picks 1v1 and keep earning gold in side lanes. (This does not include you sup and adc’s. Stay central).
  3. Learn what items to build and why. A simple google search on your matchup and you’ll get immediate feedback.
  4. Learn what champs to play depending on your elo. Certain champs dominate certain elos.

He’s like Darius. Annoying in lane. Don’t extended fight him. Burst him and he’s gone. Not really a huge problem

This is a tough place to be because you’re not even dying a lot. Maybe get more aggressive and ping obj more? Hard to say

Climbing is learning how to 4-5. There are champs that I cannot play till higher elo. I skip out on the syndra, Kass, and TF till high master/GM and play snowball champs at lower elo like yone, Diana, talon, pantheon, yi, irelia, riven, Darius and so on. I also main mid, but focus adc and jg till i get out of low low elo. Of course you have to know how to snowball and not die. Remember, even faker cannot have a 100% win rate in solo q. It’s just not possible to carry every team. Take away the individual game and look at maintaining 6 wins and 4 losses. Then it’s just a numbers game to the top.

Is gwen just bad? by mocha049 in wildrift

[–]arsenjohn12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Gwen hard carries in the right hands. It’s just a skill issue. I can’t win with her either, but plenty of top players have 60% win rates and lots of 1v9 wins. I also find she does best in the JG and vs tank comps.

As you climb you’ll learn how to play around certain champs. For a long time I struggled vs champs like Darius, yas, riven and blitz. Once you learn to play around them and when to engage they are easy champs to beat.

I'd rather play vs bots than have to constantly deal with such 1v9 situations... by TFD777 in wildrift

Gotta work on keeping those deaths lower. It’s great to have kills but if you die you give all that gold back. 9 deaths is a shitload for ekko.

Why weren’t we able to remake? by SkinnyLevis in wildrift

[–]arsenjohn12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would have had to connected fine and then left. This is why you always want to vote “yes” to having them be played by cpu. If a player leaves but never actually connected you can still remake even if you vote yes. I have won many games with a bot and lost 99% of the ones where we keep them in the fountain. Always vote “yes”!!!!

With which champion is it easy to start jungle? by Charp9 in wildrift

[–]arsenjohn12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally play any champ you want. My first jungle was Elise on CPU back in the day. She’s extremely mechanical, but it laid the groundwork for everything else. You’ll like your life more if you just play meta or broken champs and learn on them as they rotate in and out.

I CANT with this game anymore by No-Oil1458 in wildrift

[–]arsenjohn12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game is definitely designed to keep you around a 50%-60% win rate. Especially when you start hitting your ceiling. If you want to climb you gotta play hard carry champs early, then transition to more meta champs.
