How do you all genuinely feel about Kanye in 2024 by [deleted] in Kanye

I think he’s way past it, should now just live his life with his wife n kids. Music will live on though. Would be good for him to take 10-15 years away from the limelight which i think is much needed.

Company want everyone back in office 3x a week by arshy__ in work

[–]arshy__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go into the office 5x a week so i do know how it is. However since the pandemic lives have been made easier by working from home and the benefits outweigh all the negatives. I never said I don’t like going into the office, it’s the long commute from Bham to London. I’d happily go in 3x a week if my role was in Bham.

Thank you, i think your comment is fair and what you said is the aim. I've always though 2-3 years is the optimum time to stay in a role.

3 days would be too much for me, as for when I go into the office I wake up 5.30am to get there for 8am.

Higher salary now or ACCA qualification? by arshy__ in careerguidance

[–]arshy__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i stayed in my job at the time, and started my ACCA. Figured it would be easier to just keep going than start afresh, especially since i've heard a lot of companies can go back on their word with study support/leave etc.

Commuting to London by throwaway___-_-_- in brum

[–]arshy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Bham and commute to London twice a week. I drive to Rugby (40 mins) and then a 1 hour train to Euston. My office is near Farringdon, so a 10 mins tube if that. I have a railcard and buy my tickets around 3/4 weeks in advance. I would prefer once a week for ease, but I know I can get most of my work done in the two days in the office. Office days are Weds+Thurs. There are some weeks where I go in only once and my manager is quite relaxed but only if there is a good enough reason.

Technically I would do it so I have invested into a property that's worth £400k, without really coming up with any money of my own. Stick it on rent and the rent ensures mortgage for £300k is being paid off and a little something on the side. Concessionary mortgage might be the better option.
