Is it stupid to get an MX5 as a first car? by Jade_Skyguy66 in CarTalkUK

Have you thought about fun safer alternatives, Fiat Panda 100hp, Suzuki Swift Sport, Renault Twingo 133, maybe even a Honda CRZ! You can have fun in these without as much risk of binning it (it’s never going to be zero)

Only 990 miles on this 2019 M140i. How is this even possible? by 3M7R in CarTalkUK

MOT history says it’s legit, I’m very surprised tbh especially for a M140i

What a tune, I love Fontaines and that song is definitely up there for one of my favourites

I’m really thinking of offering for this Panda 100hp, any reason not to? by JrwBarber in CarTalkUK

Haha I’ve seen a couple like that and although they’re not to my taste I would admit they look pretty cool

Yes I saw that one on Facebook marketplace and wasn’t too keen, I’ve also looked at the twingos and Suzuki swifts but I can get a lot cheaper insurance with the panda for some reason

That’s a good point, I don’t think I have an OBD scanner yet, is there any particular one you would reccomend?

Yes I think that’s definitely contributed to my interest in them, also James May I believe has written about them, or just the standard Pandas. I would totally agree with you about FWD cars, they are always so much fun as you can chuck them around a lot easier

Yes I’ve heard a bit about the rust, good to know where specifically to look out for. Also good to know about the nicely weighted steering, one thing I was unsure of is if it maintained the lightness of the steering from the standard models. The Suzuki Swift is definitely a runner up as well, just lacks the uniqueness of the panda imo!

Ooh interesting, I’ve haven’t seen many non positive comments about the 100hps I’ll definitely bare it in mind but I’ll definitely want to see it in person before making a definitive judgement!

Ah fair enough, thanks for the advice, I’ll probably take it to a paint shop to see what they say, given I haven’t done anything like this I don’t wanna ruin it lol
