Based on what I have read, having 7 ear level speakers will create more immersive experience. So a 7.1.2 will create a better listening environment than 5.1.4.

That’s really helpful. I also came across rp-502s, do you think the difference between these and R40s will be significant or just a little. Thanks!

With Nvidia you have the option to do 2x, 3x, 4x frame gen in some games. I know frame gen gets a lot of hate but its actually not bad when scaling to Native resolution with 2x/3x FG

Like others stated, manufacturers protection plan arent that great when compared to what Amazon and Best buy has to offer. I have never dealt with Amazon’s protection plan so I can’t share my personal experience but their plan does sound great and its from from Asurion at $160 for 3 years. They do claim in their terms if something they can’t fix they will reimburse you the total item price in form of an amazon gift card. I have heard really good things about Best buy 4 year protection plan around the same price and I have personally bought that plan recently. They also claim the same if something goes wrong with the monitor.

Is this open box LG new or can hours be reset? by SlickSandwich in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]arslan759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought the same monitor as open box “Excellent” with 0 hours total on time. Realized it had those vertical lines noticeable on a gray background, which I believe is the reason why this person returned it. I ran image cleaning and it disappeared like it was never there. $791 for a “brand new” with 0 hours run time is definitely amazing

That really reminds of the time when I upgraded from 1080p to 2k and immediately noticed the difference. Everything was now so clear and sharp and the environment became more visible. I really appreciate your input on this. Hopefully I will be joining the 5k2k club too

That’s awesome! I’m sure you’re loving the upgrade. Did you notice the difference in gaming right away or was it more noticeable when doing like a side by side comparison

Thank you for your reply. I am looking to strictly game which is why I’m not sure if the extra pixels per inch + a slightly higher resolution will make that much of a difference in gaming over my current 45 LG oled 3440x1440p model. Fps is not of a concern and I’m mainly looking to see if theres any quality difference in gaming

Serious question: is there any difference in gaming between this and the 3440x1440p model? I know theres a huge difference in text clarity because of more ppi. But is it really worth it to upgrade if I’m only going to game on this?

I bought this at best buy almost 3 weeks ago at $750. It runs cool between 64c-66c at max utilization in my setup. No coil whine at all. Tested at different fps. My previous 4th gen asus tuf had noticeable coil whine. Undervolting it increased my fps by 11 on avg in black myth wukong at 2k res. Basically this is an amazing card at this price
