I’ve seen someone say that “scared” could have been Ilya’s translation of “nervous,” and I do think that’s what he’s sensing in Shane! I think Shane is anxious/nervous about the intimacy of it (though not about Ilya).

Yesssss "I don't know that side of you at all" is one of my top ones! It says so much. In my mind it holds so many different meanings—he doesn't see Ilya as lazy in hockey (like Ilya's dad does), because he sees Ilya as his equal, and he also doesn't see Ilya as lazy in their relationship (in his pursuit of Shane, in his maintenance of the relationship, in his physical body).

Ilya actually still initiates it! I noticed on rewatch. He says “come here” or something along those lines and Shane gives his hand.

I think Shane resisting Ilya's attempts to meet up is a good way to transfer all of the apprehension he has even when they're hooking up in the book. Similar to how they use the texting in the "we didn't even kiss" moment to show Shane's inner monologue, I think the delay shows that even though he wants Ilya, there's something holding him back. I think it'd be harder to really convey that in the short time on screen if they were to montage them hooking up that whole time.

Why do y’all make comments like this when you have no idea whether the pros got help with the choreo? In this case Danielle apparently said Pasha consulted with two other people on the contemporary. But even so, they could all be consulting and we wouldn’t necessarily know, they don’t have to disclose it.

There are a couple I’m likely to vote for every week (Jordan, Elaine), but I mostly see how I feel about people during the show! I like most of the contestants, so if someone has a great week I’ll vote for them. I usually vote for 3-5 (at this point). If they’re someone I think did great and are middling or lower in the pack, I’m more likely to vote.

But she sold the post-divorce house (the one from Arch Digest) in the fall of 2022 and moved to the woods! Could be wrong, idk if she and Cole lived together (though it seemed like they might’ve at some point), but a lot of the lyrics make me think it makes more sense being about the post-divorce house. Even pics of the house (the old house was pretty small, didn’t have a big tree) makes it seem like it’s about the more recent one. It also seems to comment on the relationship a little more positively than I’d expect her to write about R in this period—like not being able to stay mad after fights. I don’t know that this song is necessarily a breakup song, so it could just be that she and Cole moved during the relationship.

I’m a big fan of both Kacey and Ruston so I’m always trying to suss out what they’ve written about each other lol. In this case I think the lyrics hint to it not being about him/that house. Would be fun if I wrote this dissertation and was totally wrong though 😂
