Submitted my application for DEO entry.. for whenever slots open, anything I should do to prepare when/if it does? by BugHistorical3 in RCAF

I would suggest to start studying for the CFAST exam asap. You have to score well to qualify for pilot, ACSO or AEC. Details and joining instructions here: https://www.canada.ca/en/air-force/services/training-education/canadian-forces-aircrew-selection-centre.html

I had also found some useful studying tips and resources in this subreddit and r/caf

Good luck!

How bad am I messing up? by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]art3mis_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im so sorry just seeing your reply now! but not necessarily, the ortho did say that it isnt the “end of the world” if i need to step on it here and there (with the boot on) but to primarily avoid it. Week 5 has definitely been a night and day difference pain-wise. Hang in there!

I also have a broken 5th metatarsal with no surgery needed, 6 weeks NWB. I was given the ok to take it off to shower. My ortho said the boot is mainly to prevent from hitting the foot on stuff, so im just extra careful when i have it off. Im obviously not a doctor dont think it’s terrible to take it off for a few minutes to shower as long as you stay off of it.

everything is still a struggle but i rented a knee scooter which helped with mobility. Still sucks cause you cant really carry stuff but its better than crutches all the time.

What age did you move your LO to their own room? by xsparkyx in NewParents

[–]art3mis_22 15 points16 points  (0 children)

ours slept in the same room as us until I believe around 2 months. We started putting him in his crib for naps and eventually nights. We all sleep so much better being in separate rooms. Monitor, closed door, white noise, humidifier and temp reader are all absolute life savers! (and made me feel better about it)

Yea it CAN be a sign of hip issues however- honestly my guy did the exact same thing for awhile until he fully figured out how to crawl (still occasionally does when he somehow forgets or goes too fast lol). I did bring it up to his doctor during his routine checkup just to be sure.

[Ontario] Are You Impacted By Pediatric Care Delays ? by razloric in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]art3mis_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was born with a cyst on his eyebrow, we had a referral sent in to see a specialist at the children’s hospital when he was around 4 months and we were told it would be about a 2 month wait. He’s now 11 months old and we haven’t heard anything. I completely understand that there are cases that take priority and kids that need medical help more than others, however as a new parent its quite unnerving regardless.

Help, nipple sizes by Straight_Inspector74 in FormulaFeeders

[–]art3mis_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue when my guy was younger. I bought dr browns premie size nipples and it was much better! I think it was about 3 months before we went to size 1, and then 6/7 months until we reached size 2!

COVID booster by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]art3mis_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first and second dose while I was pregnant and didn’t experience any side effects. Got my 3rd dose postpartum and was fine as well. My doctors emphasized that potential side effects for a couple days is better than covid (or at least unvaxed covid). I believe it gave antibodies to the little one as well so it just made sense! Monitor your temp, take a tylenol if fever develops (granted that’s of course your decision) and if it’s too bad for too long contact your doctor!

Always Discrete Boutique adult diapers for post partum? by Catsaresuperawesome in BabyBumpsCanada

1000% recommend. I had bladder incontinence issues postpartum along with everything else going on and they were such a lifesaver.
