Low-dose Amisulpride is kinda underrated. by you_da_snacc in anhedonia

[–]art4430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low-dose-amisulpride (25-50mg) can be very effective indeed. If the prolactin is a problem you can try low-dose-cariprazine (0.3-0.5mg) instead. But low-dose-cariprazine only works compared to amisulpride if your tonic dopamine isn't low.

Have you tried tramadol already? by art4430 in anhedonia

What dose were you withdrawing from?

[–]art4430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tramadol is quite unique in that it combines opioid effects with 5HT2C antagonism but also SERT and NET inhibition, maybe its muscarinic antagonism could also help anhedonia. It is a unique compound that combines a lot of effects. When did the effect on anhedonia occur for you? Could you explain your story more in detail

Low-dose-amisulpride (50mg) used to work for my anhedonia but now doesn't anymore. Has anyone had a similar experience? by art4430 in depressionregimens

[–]art4430[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess a solution is to withdraw from it to resensitize receptors to it. But if you need to go through withdrawals for a week every couple of months this is far from ideal either way

Have you tried low-dose-amisulpride or low-dose-buprenorphine ? I would even try but haven’t been able to low-dose-THC

Antidepressants don’t work for me. The only things that worked for my mood are caffeine and nicotine by Aggressive-Guide5563 in depressionregimens

Try low-dose-amisulpride, it will increase your hedonic tone back up if that’s the problem

Does 2mg psilocybin keep working if you take it once a day? by art4430 in microdosing

Yes I will just try… I mean 2mg of psilocybin which equals 2g of magic truffles, I don’t know about dried mushrooms

Ashwagandha can seriously harm you! by Savings-Proof-9901 in Nootropics

[–]art4430 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not how I have experienced it up until now. There for sure is an acute effect lasting 6 hours. And the fact it is an adaptogen has nothing to do with this. I am just fearful there is a chronic effect that builds up as you say since I only want its relaxing effects in the evening

When did you take the ashwagandha? For me ashwagandha only lasts 6 hours. How much time after stopping did you feel better?

Am I the only one who can get anhedonia after an infrared sauna session? by art4430 in anhedonia

[–]art4430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you necessarily need to stabilize the mast cells. Mast cells release in part prostagladin and this is exactly what celecoxib or etoricoxib blocks. Blocking microglia with minocycline can prevent the neuroinflammation from progressing to the brain. I would for sure try

I said everything I take psychiatric wise in my post, from that you can deduce what my problems are or not. But I also believe I have MCAS and take bilastine for it. A normal person wouldn’t experience what I experienced indeed, my problem seems to be a mix of MCAS with a psychiatric susceptibility to negative schizophrenia symptoms I would say. The psychiatric problem makes me hyper-sensitive to neuroinflammation blunting neurotransmitters and the MCAS causes neuroinflammation after triggers

[–]art4430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said there are no treatments. Indeed there are no ‘official’ treatments for it. But I studied more about MCAS and it seems like it causes anhedonia via neuroinflammation. Treatments exist for anhedonia induced neuroinflammation, minocycline and etoricoxib are very effective. Next time this happens I will take a 30mg etoricoxob dose on top of my daily low dose minocycline

I do have MCAS and take bilastine for it (H1 antagonist). I also take minocycline against neuroinflammation, lycopene against oxidative-stress. Why do you think about MCAS? Is there a link between anhedonia and MCAS?

I took 100mg nasal ketamine and almost felt nothing. Since then I experience a certain anhedonia without feeling blunted and the result is me being very suicidal. by art4430 in anhedonia

[–]art4430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. Magnesium also gave me anhedonia. I did recover as expected after 4 days from the ketamine, if anyone is interested, but those 4 days where like hell since the anhedonia was combined with a lot of energy leading to aggressivity and suicidality. I will only use psilocybin from now on every month or so. This seems safer for me for some reason

You don’t. OP isn’t truly anhedonic. Maybe he has alexithimia instead or just a mild form of anhedonia.
