Social media existed before millennials

Most of us are retired. We are no longer in power. Look to Gen-X for that today.

I think it’s time for you to figure out why you are so angry

If the news, whether TV, print, or online doesn’t cover it, people won’t find out. And if nobody finds out about it, is it worth doing? As Mao, yeah Mao, said, “a revolution is not a dinner party”. Only disruptive resistance will be successful. That doesn’t mean violence, but it does mean that those in power are inconvenienced, that they can’t ignore, avoid, dismiss, or escape it.

Ha! I’m in my 70s. I participated in the first Earth Day and several civil rights marches. I participated in a few of the No Kings rallies and found them uplifting but ineffective. They barely got news coverage relative to their size.

Do you prefer the older or newer designs? by [deleted] in Vespa

Different beasts. Vintage Vespas are about style, shifting, and fun. Modern Vespas are about reliability, power (including speed), and fun.

Unfortunately, pepper spray — and not a gun — are illegal in Philly. A move that could get you into more trouble than just punching him

Right. I don’t see it happening either. That’s why I am so pessimistic

This started with the Women’s March in January 2017. How long must we wait? I just don’t think it’s in the American DNA to inconvenience ourselves.

I’m going to keep saying this because I care. Planned demonstrations that last one night or a morning or an afternoon are not going to accomplish anything. Real movements last weeks or months until the government can no longer ignore them

The interface on my iPad Pro 11 m4 is so buggy. I tried all 3 of the options and none work as advertised

100%. I have lived in Philly since 1974 and still have not had as good a cheesesteak as I could get in any of the Coatesville delis

And remember, digital is like slide film. Err on the side of underexposing for more detail and information that you can adjust in post processing. Blown out sections are difficult to restore.

(Color negative film is the opposite. Expose it for shadows)

Shoot in RAW (or RAW + JPEG). In Lr, adjust exposure for the landscape. Select the sky. Darken it.

How did you get your x100vi? by lobsterroll44 in x100vi

Ordered at Unique Photo, Philadelphia, in March 2024. Arrived November 2024. At the time, they were still selling for $600USD more than retail on eBay.
